The icecream bar needs changes. While making out sundaes, there were small unattended children running up and putting their hands in the toppings and eating them. One girl actually put the whip cream spoon in her mouth then put it back into the container. Gross! But other than that we had a blast!
I hadn't been to Fire+Ice in some time and either I had a romanticized memory of what it was or it has become a college kids hangout that is poorly lit and noisy. The most outstanding thing were the drinks--at least the alcoholic ones. The server was efficient and friendly and the food itself was fine when it came off the grill. No need to wonder any more. It's not for me.
Have been there twice to this location and it is just not a good set up.
Great Idea but horrible execution. The food was really bad
OK for what it is, but totally different vibe from when they first opened in Cambridge a number of years ago. Might be better if you could find a time when it isn't so crowded. Food stations kept running out of items, a little chaotic queuing up to get to the cook station but the chefs are all very friendly and handle the chaos well. That being said, the food is pretty good once you fight through the masses at the food stations to fill your bowl for cooking.
1 wasn't sat till 15 min past reservation time 2 drinks from the bar had almost no alcohol at all 3 table wasn't set (no utensils) 4 seat was wet had to wait and walk around people to fetch napkins 5 chef mixed up sauces and meals at which point we left Antonio our server was great (the only person who could do the job assigned) Jeff the manager didn't do anything other than take our plates away...what a guy! The melting pot was the best choice of the evening and its right around the corner!
me and my wife have been to fire and ice in boston about 3 or 4 times. the most recent time on may 9 2013 will probably be our last. I had a 645pm reservation and arrived about 630. when we were seated, we were placed right next to a party of about 20 fifteen year old girls yelling and screaming. After being uncomfortable right away I asked the host if we could be seated somewhere else and got the reply " we have a lot of groups coming in tonight but I guess we can put you over here" ( exactly 1 table over!). we then waited ... read more
Service was horrible!!! Always had to repeat and ask for things twice. Never around when you need her.
It was not enjoyable whatsoever..The food didn't look or taste fresh, nothing was cooked properly, and everything tasted artificial..horrible experience overall.
