I first tried a local county bank for my loan since the property was 233 acres with a house that was built in 1842. I thought it would be easier for a local bank that keeps the loans in house. I was putting 20% down and have excellent credit and was told it could close within 30 days. Mike Ott was wonderful to work with through the loan and mortgage process. We had a construction loan that was then converted to a mortgage which was more involved than a standard mortgage. Mike was knowledgeable and helped guide us through the process. He was responsive and always available to answer questions and provide information. When we ran up against delays with our builder, he was flexible and worked his magic to get us to closing on time.

I am a first-time homebuyer and Mike and his team were awesome. Super responsive to any questions I had, and we did everything electronically, but I was always able to pick up the phone and call with questions and they got back to me right away. Mike was very straightforward in explaining various aspects of the whole process, and I never felt like I was being talked into a bigger mortgage than I could handle. The whole process was pretty painless.
