Horrible hair color experience - like many of these other clients, I have been going to Gene Juarez for years- 34 years to be exact! The quality of the services has gone way down and every time I find a stylist that doesn't ruin my hair, she ends up leaving. God forbid if you complain about your hair. They don't care! I went to see Vjollca at $143 (+30 tip) for a cut. My hair was shoulder length and I wanted a very basic shorter cut, the same one she did last year before wanting to let my hair grow out. She gave me a completely different cut than the picture I showed. At no time did she even mention she was doing something else. At no time did she even ask if I wanted something else. Paid $100.00 for one of the worst haircuts I've ever had! Was supposed to be a simple trim and bang cut. The right side is about 3 inches shorter than the left . Called to see if I could get if fixed and was told that it had to be within a 72 hour window. I was past that and was declined. I've been a customer over five years snd this was the first time I've ever had a complaint. Client retention is definitely not a concern. Please save your money and just go to great clips, not worth the price.

I have gone to many stylists at Gene Juarez over the last 15 years. This last visit at Alderwood Gene Juarez was with a stylist named Cara. At the end my partial foil with hair color was not done matching my descriptive request to not have a flat blonde look. During my last visit with her she rambled on extensively about the LGBQT+ community, and her personal family & friends who were a part of it. Being nice I allowed her to speak her mind. I've been going to GJ for over 30 years now. I barely went during the 3 years of the pandemic. It seems that they've completely changed the experience for customers without warning. They are trying to promote their app but it doesn't explain all the various offerings. I'm not sure what to select to cover grays. If you question your hair color, you're no longer welcome. I've been a client of Gene Juarez since I was 15 years old, from prom hair to wedding makeup, with no complaints or issues until now. Would give 0 or negative star if possible. I got a keratin hair treatment from the salon. After the treatment, my hair started smelling of rotten egg whenever it was wet. I called the salon and they told it was not okay and gave me a free hair spray and use it for a month and told me to call back if it doesn't improve. As expected the spray didn't help. Don't charge me for your mistakes! I made an appointment for 930am today. I was contacted at 8 and told the stylist was out sick - ok no problem. I called after 9, when you open, to reschedule for next weekend. I was told I was booked for 1:15 next Sunday for color and cut. I also specifically asked if I would be charged a cancellation fee for todays cut since I didn't want the cut without the color - I was told I would not, they were sorry I had to reschedule. I have been ill and can't stand long. I took an earlier appointment with another stylist. Mistake. I walked away with a horrible style. So ugly people commented on it.. Pofessionalism from these stylists would have been appreciated.
