I am appalled by the lack of service and the management at Gene Juarez. On my last visit, there were lines at the front desk, and they moved like snails both checking me in and for payment at the end of service. While the actual work done was great, the process is offensive and there is no sense of customer service! When I got to the counter to pay, I was told my service was $350 for a color and cut I was shocked. I was told $167 on the phone - liars. I am going to break down my rating on color, cut, then management. Five Star for Color - Shannon was my colorist, and she did a great job getting me ready for what I plan to do with my hair in the coming months. She was personal, helpful, and all around a great colorist. 3 Star for Cut - My Cut - was ok. I'm sorry I don't remember her name, but she was decent, young, so very literal when given directions, which for some is what they want. Worst hair cut ever. Made me stand the entire haircut, told me it would be more even if I stood. WTF, never heard that in my entire life.

I came to this store and did not get what I was expecting. I asked for a deep conditioning and hair straightening but I felt as if they weren't doing it nicely.I came to the store a little bit late because I was new to this mall when I got there they said they could still fit me in so I said yes but I wish I had just said no and went to another salon. I'm livid. I'm a hair stylist, but I recently broke my wrist. During this time, my mother went to this Gene Juarez for a haircut. I'm today looking at the perimeter of my mom's hair. It's significantly shorter in the front, & in the back there were about five different lengths, including this little rat's tail f***ery. My wrist is now healed enough to at least fix that for her, which leads me to believe the person who last cut my mom's hair did so w their feet. I came to Gene Juarez thinking this was a higher end salon, so I was expecting high end results. I was in yesterday originally and gave the gal a photo of what I was interested in. I wanted balayage in light brown color- she gave me blonde/ yellow highlights. I was a bit in shock and had somewhere to be so I waited until I got home then I panicked. Very poor service. I generally think that when you go to Gene Juarez, any location, you'll get a decent haircut. I have long straight hair and it is not very high maintenance. What I expect for the price is quality of customer service and highly skilled stylist. When I arrived the woman who checked me in seemed put out to do her job and not welcoming in the least. Wow. I stopped getting my hair cut there a couple years back because of the poor customer service I received after being a loyal client for 10 years. I still continued to buy products there for convenience. After today I won't even be doing that. I bought a conditioner yesterday and got the wrong one. I went in today to exchange and didn't have a receipt. The person who checked me out didn't use my account therefore there wasn't a record of the transaction. I would give one star for my coloring service but I've never had a problem with getting haircuts so I'm kind of in the middle right now. The salon itself isn't the issue but the lack of knowledge and experience of certain colorists. Just want to warn anyone with Asian hair, do your research before booking with just anyone for a balayage. I don't even need to explain what happened, just look at the picture.
