The staff here is amazing and so caring. My dog Suki came here for an emergency visit due to her eye injury. They took us in right away and started surgery the next day to save her eye. It is pricey here, but they really do everything to take care of your beloved pet. We worked out a payment plan with the staff, and luckily, I have pet insurance as well. We got everything we needed to get Suki's surgery done. A few weeks went by, unfortunately, Suki's eye had too much trauma. She developed glaucoma in her eye, which was too... read more

My cat Mimi was playing with some flowers my significant other purchased for me . They were Lillie's and few Google searches and a phone call to animal welfare I was made a case for Mimi . I had a full blown panic attack and drove to gulf coast vet and they cared and watched over her for a few days . Roughly 3k later I was told that she's going to be okay . Thank you so much guys . Pricey , but I'll drop any amount if I know my cat is in good hands

Business response:

We're so glad to hear that Mimi is doing well! Thank you for trusting us with her care.

This place is awesome. We took our cat there to be evaluated by a cardiologist. He had previously been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease by Blue Pearl. This cardiologist did not agree with the evaluation. His honesty saved us more huge expenses. Thank goodness we took our cat here and will definitely be back. It rare to find vets that are not out to just take as much money as they can from you.

Business response:

We are so glad to hear about your positive experience at GCVS, Tom. Thank you for trusting us with your cat's care. We always strive to provide compassionate care. We will be sure to share your comments with our team!

I cannot think the staff at Gulf Coast Veterinary specialist enough for how kind patient and understanding they were with me. They actually take the time to listen to what's going on with your pet and give you a proper diagnosis. This is a pet emergency room so it runs as such. So if a pet comes in in more dire circumstances than yours , they you get bumped to the front of the line, and they have an emergency room fee. They do charge emergency room specialist prices for their work, but honestly , it was worth it because of... read more

First took our dog to the ER over 2 months ago, that day we had to wait 12 hours because it was so full. It was very frustrating. I probably wouldn't have given them a 5 star if my review were only based on that day. However my dog has continued her checkups there and they are always so nice and attentive. Dr Olivia Murray is great and has made us feel very comfortable throughout all this process.

Business response:

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Graciela. Our team follows a triage process in which we treat our patients in order of severity. We apologize for any confusion or frustration caused by the wait. We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear that Dr. Olivia Murray and our team have provided great care for your dog during her checkups. Thank you for trusting GCVS with your pet's care.

We were here the night before when our 17 yr old Shih tzu could not walk on her hind legs. The doctor asked if we wanted to do some bloodwork after he did a physical examination. We said sure. He then came back with some options with renal failure: hospitalization, MRI, or "quality of life." He gently gave us news on how our dog would not see improvement. At that moment, I could not process what was going on, but my husband did. I decided to take our baby home that night. By the time morning came she was in really bad sha... read more

I would give 10 stars if I could. Our 12 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Roosevelt, had a leg that became lame quickly and he was in a lot pain so we brought him into GCVS on a Sunday morning. The professionalism and care he received was next level. I would receive multiple calls a day from doctors and nurses updating me on status and providing next steps and information. When I attended my owner visit with him I was able to see their operations room and thought I'd stepped into the Space Center. The level of sophisticat... read more
