When my mother moved into the Halliwell, she knew she was at the end of life and that she would not return home. This difficult time was made easier by the wonderful care and consideration shown to her by all the staff. As a regular visitor, I was made to feel at home. The Halliwell Care Home was an amazing, caring place for my sister’s end of life care. From the first visit we made to when my sister passed away two weeks later, the staff were always wonderful. Each time we visited, we were impressed by the warm and friendly atmosphere and the cleanliness of this comfortable care home. My husband went into the Halliwell initially for respite care following a haemorrhagic stroke which had left him unable to walk or stand with significant weakness on his left side. I had hoped that he would then be able to come home but that was sadly not an option. The staff at the Halliwell cared for him with such compassion, maintained his dignity and took interest in him as a person not only a patient, wonderful care.

My father was very happy at Halliwell despite having to leave his home where he had lived for over 50 years. I am sure the cheerful, expert and tender care shown by all the staff helped to settle him. Whenever we telephoned to enquire after my father's health, especially when he was poorly, whoever we spoke to, day staff and night staff alike, we were always impressed. Halliwell is an exceptional nursing home. It is well-run and the staff are superb. Abolutely all the staff - whether they're nurses, carers, receptionists or part of the housekeeping, restaurant, maintenance teams - engage with the residents and genuinely care about both their physical and emotional wellbeing. It's a caring, happy place and did an excellent job of caring for my 90 year old dad.

My dad transferred to the Halliwell after a three-month stay in hospital. The staff welcomed him, his first request for a long soak in a bubble bath was carried out his first evening. The staff were cheerful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

I had a close friend who was a resident at Halliwell for over 2 1/2 years and I would visit 2 or 3 times every week. Halliwell was always lovely and clean - nice, warm and comfortable, and became 'home' to my friend for her time there. The staff were wonderful and very caring and the management were always available, should any minor points need to be discussed. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Halliwell to anyone thinking of similar care for a friend or relative.

I would thoroughly recommend the Halliwell Care Home in Tunbridge Wells if you have the suitable finances. The care is second to none and the staff are excellent.
