Food was sub par: bbq shrimp appetizer had no taste; burger and fries came out cold and rare though order was for medium, and the chicken and shrimp Gumbo was bland.
Valet parking not available and no help for alternate parking is unacceptable! How many parking spaces were lost to new outdoor dining tables in parking lot? Reservation at 7:15 ... finally seated at 8:12 Had the duck which was tough Haven was a preferred restaurant but no more!
No one had a mask on.... surprisingly
I only saw ONE person in the wait staff with a mask on. However on Opentable when it indicated that wait staff would have on mask I would assume (and it should have been) more than just one waiter. I was disappointed in that.
Kitchen was completely out of sorts. Food came out cold and dessert came out Burt on bottom (brownie). Young manager completely out of touch. We dine there frequently and this is the first time we have had a sub par meal. Very good server but he was over worked due to shortage of help. Kitchen needs help!!
Before noticing the hair in our food, we took note that it was overcooked (the strip and chicken) and under seasoned. The good wasn't bad, it just could have been better. The service was good, no issues there.
The staff honestly seemed annoyed with us the second we sat down. Our server was not very familiar with the menu and at some point during our meal they must have had a shift change or something because suddenly we had a new server and we were honestly confused as to who was taking care of us. We later saw our first server rolling silverware in a booth in the front of the house but could not get his attention to get our check. I’ve dined at Haven several times before the pandemic and was looking forward to a wonderful experience. Wait staff was not as attentive and was quite rushed with taking our order. When we asked about the portion size of an entree was given the wrong information and therefore woefully disappointed. Had we been given more accurate information would have chosen a different entree option.
Our waiter was not attentive and came off rude and passive. I asked for my steak medium well and it came out medium. I asked the waiter if it can be cooked a little longer and she stated “your steak is our medium well”. Huh?! I didn’t know medium well cooked steak varied from restaurant to restaurant. I was able to get my steak cooked a few more mins but it wasn’t still to my desire. What made this somewhat of a redeemable experience was the greeter/seater.
