Some of the food was not evenly cooked. We had a couple of dishes that were hot in some spots and cold in others.
We went to Haven for a date night-our first in four months thanks to a move and a one and two year old at home. From appetizer to dessert, the meal took 45 minutes. It felt fast. People were approaching trying to take away food, glasses and plates when we were trying to linger. We went at 6:15 so there shouldn't have been a big rush. We made a reservation. Gordon was great as usual service was spot on. However the kitchen was not. my partner ordered the in bone filet rare plus and it came out medium . I ordered the bone in cowboy rib eye medium and it came out rare plus looks like the kitchen mixed up the tempatures. Gordon offered us a few option to correct the matter which we agreed too. But this was the second recent visit theat our steak tempatures where wrong. If you are going to charge $50-$60 for a steak you should know how to cook it correctly. Food was overpriced and steak was Medicare at best. Both times I ordered a beer the pour was very poor. The steak was very tough and fatty. The food was grossly overpriced for the quality and taste.
Service was mediocre. Ordered side of biscuits, took about 20 minutes. Server respond was not up too par. Food was not as good as we've had before. Inconsistent with the good, seems to have new kitchen cooks and expediter that shows lack of caring on the food.
I ordered grouper and it came out raw---pink rubbery and NOT cooked. Sent it back and the 2nd time they brought it out, it was STILL raw---how do you not cook fish all the way through??
The server was marginal at best as we felt rushed in the beginning then left unattended for long periods, especially when it was time for the check. Knats were a huge problem at our table and when mentioned to server he dismissed the issue. During our meal knats got in our food actually 1 dish was removed from our ticket bc knats had landed in it and left uneaten. Manager never came over to apologize or anything. Sad bc I've eaten here before and gave 5star rating only 2 weeks ago! I know they can be better, much better.
We've been to Haven before & loved it but this particular evening we were disappointed in the service and lack of attention to detail. Food was 'mediocre'. Hopefully, just a fluke...
Went to Haven on a date night. Wanted a good steak without going to a fancy white tablecloth type place. Paid $50 for bone-in filet. I ordered medium and husband ordered medium rare. Both were over cooked. Disappointed to spend so much and not be pleased. Didn't tell server. We had already been told they were the last 2 filets. Won't have steak again, but love the atmosphere. Sat outside. It was lovely. Salad was delicious. Didn't enjoy shrimp cocktail appetizer.
