Not so great nor wireless 1 missing star for the sleep mode. Often the wireless doesn't print immediately but 30min or 1 hr later. 2 missing another star for not compatible with Mac. 3. missing another star for not compatible with Android tablet. 4. missing another star for not compatible with multiple wifi networks. E.g. if your house has 2 wifi, it can only connect to 1 wifi.
No explicit instructions for wifi printing Horrendous instructions. Spent hours trying to find detailed instructions for setting this printer up for wireless printing. Still haven't found them. Find only convoluted instructions referring back to documents that are not explicit!
Expensive in the long run After 3 months, the printer just turned itself off and could not be revived. Brother said I couldn't return it, but could switch for a refurbished model. I stupidly didn't remove the toner before returning the dearly departed one. Turns out, there's also a drum that the toner goes into. The toner plus drum is more expensive than a new printer. After a maddening conversion with customer service, I decided to stay far away from Brother. Don't buy this printer - unless you really love wasting money.
Garbage This product is TERRIBLE. Disgraceful set up & is NOT user friendly whatsoever. Want my money back.
Good until printer went to sleep Worse wireless printer ever. Printer used to work on wifi then one day just stops working and still does not work.
not a good printer. I can't say I like this printer. I had a Samsung ML whatever printer before this that was stolen. I paid 100 bucks for it new 10 years ago. None of the new printers match up to it. And the ad said this thing had ethernet and it didn't and then they changed the ad. I'm very upset I didn't get my ethernet port. I do not want wireless printing... But meh, It works... But I miss my old cheap samsung. Why can't they still make/sell good cheap models like that. customer service terrible, waited over an hour for representative printer is very good. Customer servie is terrible, no one should have to wait anhour or more for represtative. !
Can you hate a printer??? I hate this printer! We purchased this in late March (only 6 months old). It does not, and never has, connect consistently to the wireless network. We were always rebooting the modem and restarting the printer. It stopped connecting in the middle of printing several forms. I jumped through every hoop to get it back online to no avail. The tech support is nonexistent. I will never buy another Brother printer again.
Setting it up is a NIGHTMARE You must manually type in your password with the up and down arrow. It took me over 3 hours after following all the instructions. The router info instructions are a mix of terms that are not on your router and don't take into account multiple wifi signals. I almost shipped it back. Finally figured it out. Setting up a printer shouldn't be so difficult. And the damn sleep mode is annoying as hell.
