Brother laser printer does not handle power outages or surges well!!! I bought the Brother Printer in May of this year and it worked awesome until this week. Every time I tried to print something, I got a message from computer saying my "printer was off line". My son Nick came over today) to check it out and he said the printer was "dead". He did a little digging and found out this has happened to other people with the same Brother printer. He suspects the main board was "fried". I will try to return it but I am not hopeful.

Awful I purchased at Christmas but didn't need to use it for almost a month. I truly regret not taking it out of the box and using it immediately. At first printing was okay. Okay but not good because there were these grooves in the paper from the rollers. I thought huh, weird. Then I printed out a 200 plus document and okay went to crap. The odd grooves turned every page thick and unruly to handle. I wanted to return, too late. Disposable Printer - Lasted 1 Year Then Died - Now Landfill Once set up, this printer was a joy to use. Until it died, one week after warranty ended, it was all a printer should be. 1. It was fast and easy. 2. Pages were beautiful even on draft setting. 3. The paper tray was easy to pull out and put back, and the toner opening is convenient even with the printer on the floor under my desk. 4. Got it in January Dead in September I love brother products but they do not last very long! It is very annoying to have to buy a new printer every 6-9 months because they do not holdup even with genuine parts being purchased!!!
WiFi is very difficulty to setup You have to download the "full package" from their support site. Then use the crap utility via a temp USB cable to configure it half way to at least get the wifi password entered, which fails after that step, then dig thru the print settings on the printer to find what IP was assigned, and use windows print manager to manually configure the new printer via wifi... :-(
Prints fuzzy Bought this printer for my daughter's college. Figure the laser will provide higher quality print, but the letters are fuzzy. My inkjet printers print better quality. Disappointing...
Best of Printer I got this printer for free from a friend who didn't want to use it, and I am using it since 2016 without any issues. It is simple printer and the low ink indicator warning still can print papers for another 6 months.
Budget printer, with caveats WiFi connection can be very slow when printing images. Toner cartridge shipped with printer lasted less than 500 pages.
