It’s like a dysfunctional relationship With an unpredictable neurotic. This printer can print beautifully, but much of the time it just refuses to print. Why not? Because it is sleeping. DO NOT PURCHASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRINTER. A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE IT LITERALLY DIED. STOP WORKING. NO POWER NOTHING. I DIDN'T RECEIVE A FULL REFUND BECAUSE IT LITERALLY WAS A FEW DAYS AFTER THE GRACE PERIOD TO RETURN. Stopped working after 9 months (won't turn on, like it has no power going to it) After about 9 months of use it stopped working completely. The toner cartridge that came with the unit was replaced with a new one and about two days after that, the printer won't turn on. It's like it has no power going to the unit and the outlet it is plugged into has power.
Not worth it. Print quality wasn't great, the "ink" would easily come off the paper when rubbed or scratched, sometimes even without touching it (I know it's not ink but I don't know what else to call it). The paper often would curl because of the heat. Last month it just stopped working one day, wouldn't turn on. Had to toss it. I'm done with Brother printers.
Bulletproof Bulletproof. And WAY more economical than the inkjet it replaced. No tech support needed.
Worst printer I’ve ever bought. This printer is just that bad. The provided software 900+mb(?!) interferes with the windows print function and feels half-baked. Windows constantly loses the printer. None of our laptops can wirelessly find the printer consistently, regardless of how we’ve set up the ecology settings in the printer. The sleep function is terrible, the printer will stay offline until you manually restart it, and you can’t turn off that feature. We’ve determined it is basically unusable. Do not buy I bought this for my chromebook because it was recommended as easiest to connect. NOT SO! took forever to get it set up and then could not get it to find my chromebook . Had to manually connect to laptop. Would not buy a brother again. Got an HP and it was super easy.
worked until it failed at 7 months Had the printer fail to print when using wireless, but usually fixed itself a few minutes later. Only about 1000 pages and now the printer is stuck in sleep mode. Deep sleep is turned off. Might wake 20 minutes after a print job requested. WiFi is connected. Printer cable use is okay in that it wakes instantly, making this a non wireless printer. Worked for a while. Fine while it worked. Lasted about 18 months and now suddenly stopped working.
