Not worth of money! Brother has many good quality monochrome printer but is bottom of line! I have been using brother HL2240 for many years. I bought it for my office as looks similar to HL2240, but the quality of printing is very bad.
DON'T BUY THIS! The most frustrating printer I've ever used. Turn it on once and it prints via WiFi. Turn it on 2 hours later and "printer not responding" messages. Let it sit a day and it may or may not print again. Brother support website is a nightmare to navigate. I've spent 3x as much time trying to use or fix this printer than I've used it. DON'T BUY!
Wouldn't connect to wi-fi I had a disagreement with my last printer. It wouldn't print so I kicked it. We both lost. It ended up in the trash and I ended up with this trash from Brother. The printer refused to connect to the wifi in any way that my computer could understand. I ran a diagnostic and the printer assured me it was connected but the computer disagreed. It stopped working after 4 months! DO not buy this junk, stopped working our of nowhere after 4 months. Called brother and they was to charge me $99 for diagnostics.
I really hate this printer. It wont come out of "sleep" mode I really hate this printer. It is the least user-friendly printer that I have ever purchased. I am not the best at technology, but, at this point, consumer technology for basic equipment should be somewhat intuitive. Every time I try to print something, it tells me that the sleep mode is on. Do not buy unless you want total frustration My boyfriend bought me this printer on Amazon. I hate to complain about it to him, so to feel better I have to warn others to stay far away from this awful printer. Soooooo frustrating. Getting rid of it (and I feel sorry for the person who gets it next). The toner cartridge already registered low after I had printed, at most, 15 pages of mostly text (no images). This printer is hot garbage. I have had it for not even 3 months and its been nothing but issues. I bought this printer July 1th 2019 and it is currently September 27th 2019. The papery try wont grab any paper (even after I followed the brother "paper error" video to try to fix it,It wont connect via wifi even though it says its on the network( I have to plug it in which makes it useless for me as a small business),and it prints DOUBLE of anything I print when plugged in. Vertical line Took about 90 min to set up. I am not tech guy that might be the reason. There is vertical line since The first day I set up in printing and I tied to fixed by looking you tube and it couldn’t help. I waste a lot of ink.
Lasted 8 months After 6 months I got an "add toner" message. Techs determined it is a hardware issue. I have no printer and no recourse as I did not buy it from Brother. This is my first and last Brother product.
