If Only I Could Leave Zero Stars This is the worst printer I have ever experienced in my life. I have a MacBook Pro and yes, I read the reviews, but sill me I thought, I can do this!! Fast forward to a week later and this POS sits by the front door waiting to be picked up by UPS tomorrow. Brother Firmware Update and conflicts with Microsoft Just spent an hour fighting the download that just popped up in the mail for this printer. Because this amazing printer is the least expensive in the array of printers, it also gets the least support. I could not figure out how to contact an "actual" support person to walk through the download. I gave up. It's not happening. Not today; who knows when. The worst printer I've ever used. This printer has a very bad wifi connection. They enforce you to download their software and the software is extremely unstable. First 1 star review on Amazon. DON'T BUY THIS PRINTER
If I wanted to jam I would join a band. This printer is trash. Out of the box it has done nothing but jam. I spent over an hour and a half to get the paper tray to feed correctly, a wheel that feeds the paper wasn’t spinning corectly. Then we went to print 2 sided, the whole reason we bought this model, and when it sucks the paper back in to do the second side it’ll jam every time. Very disappointed in the quality. I expect more from Brother. Now to box this beast up and return it to buy a higher quality machine.
Defective right out of the box Received this printer today. Plugged it in and immediately got the error message “print unable 0A”. Luckily, Amazon’s exchange process is pretty painless.
Stopped working after three months Great printer, but it stopped working inexplicably after three months. DO NOT BUY!
2 1/2 months and it wont turn on i bought this printer for school work, its been working great and now it will not turn on. no power nothing. Trying to get ahold of bother customer service. I should have known from the begining amazon sent me one with a missing part. now im not even three months in and its not turning on out of nowhere.
Difficult, Buggy, and Not Secure Wireless Setup; No 5GHz The Wireless Device Setup Wizard is buggy and does not work. The "Temporarily use a USB cable (Recommended)" option doesn't detect the printer and disables bluetooth input devices instead. The exact same connection works for printing and for configuring the device via the printer driver. I used a Mac running OS 10.13.6 and the wizard version that was current as of 25 Jan 2019. After installation a test page shows a black toner strip on the left edge Wireless installation went fine, but a test page from my computer generated a good test page but with a black strip on the left side. I went to Brother's website and searched on the printer model for support, but it can't find that model????
