Dead less than 3 months in. Less than 3 months after purchase the unit became unresponsive. Brother customer service agreed to send a re-furbished model; their customer service was horrible and I'm unconvinced the new machine will ever arrive but here's hoping. When it was functioning the prints were quick and quality decent. Buyer beware. Fingers crossed.

Do Not Buy - Do not buy this printer. Worked great day 1 but Day 2 was disaster. Falls into sleep mode and will print. Tried setting the timer to 1 hour on sleep mode and still falls into sleep mode in 1 minute. Tried all the trouble shooting tips from Brother and still doesn't work. Going to return.
Printer wouldn’t read new ink toner I don’t hate this printer. I actually loved it for the first copies with the ink it came with. I bought new ink for 71.00 at staples and when I put it in the printer the led screen said add toner. It wouldn’t accept it. I went online and it said what to do and still, it said add toner. I am in a time sensitive situation so I had to return it and a friend bought me another printer which is arriving Friday through amazon as well. I really like brother printers. Always had them. Stopped working after 8 months Very disappointed with this purchase. The printer has literally stopped working only 8 months after purchasing.
Forget this one and stick with USB connection. What good is a wireless printer if it is asleep every time you need to print something? Necessitates getting up and walking into the other room and having to wake it up every time. Fooled around with suggestions to resolve the issue to no avail. Brother needs to do some serious driver updates as this is not their only printer with this issue. Sent it back for a refund.
1 month and double sided stopped working After only having the printer for 1 month ( rarely used since I tend to use my work printer), whenever I tried to print double sided, the printer reported a jam. THERE IS NO JAM. The paper prints out and when it tries to roll back in to print the 2nd side, the roller can't grip the paper and only 3 cm of the paper is still in the printer. Oh, do I wish I hadn't purchased this printer! No. 1 - after I print something, the printer goes into sleep mode; then a few minutes later I want to print another page, and I have to turn off the machine, then restart it. Why can't the printer just stay on until I turn it off myself??? No. 2 - I didn't know the cartridges cost as much as the printer cost - that's so totally ridiculous. I wish I could return the printer for a refund!
Does Not Come Fully Functional Be warned that this product DOES NOT come with any cables that one might need to connect it to a computer or network of devices. If you do not own a USB printer cable and/or a CAT-5 cable, you will have to install Brother's software on your computer in order to connect the printer to a device or group of devices via a wireless network. The quality and value of the printer are good, but if you don't have these cables laying around and/or a wireless network that will cost you extra.
