Rigged to force you to buy more ink. I had an old Brother printer that was a real workhorse, but this one has been a ripoff. The company wants you to spend big bucks on their toner cartridges, so the printer will refuse to accept cartridges that still have toner left in them. I have also had a lot of issues with the wireless printing not working. I would not buy this model again.
Deep sleep mode prevents wireless printing I'm returning this printer to Amazon. I've called Brother Customer Service twice. They are very nice and each time have me go through a series of "button pushings" that are modified settings buried beneath the very few control buttons. Each time customer service has been able to fix the problem but then it returns again. I'm unable to print wirelessly when printer is in deep sleep mode. Electronic and Customer Service failure We needed a low volume printer to replace a Dell we used for 5 years without problems. The HL-L2350DW was easy to install and printed adequately three times over two weeks. Immediately upon pushing the on button for the fourth printing need, the circuit breaker tripped in the room. This has never happened before in the 15 years we've lived in this house and used this room as a home office. Rubbing noise while printing With in 3 months I bought it started making noise while printing. Print quality is okay.
Do not buy! While this is a low cost laser printer it has a fatal flaw: after a few seconds it goes into "deep sleep" mode and will not receive data for printing. To correct you must turn the machine off, turn it back on and then reprogram your wireless set up. The "deep sleep" mode cannot be removed. A printer that will not simply print when you want it to is useless! Only one star because I cannot give lower.
This is a hard printer to set up. This is a very very hard printer to set up. Wifi set up is a lie. USB set up is super slow even when you have a fast ethernet connection. Wish I had bought a different brand. To install it, the software included was next to useless. First, had to get my network to turn off deep sleep, then had to reset the wan 4 times on initial setup, then MICROSOFT ADD PRINTER, then after Microsoft installed it... then could finally install the brother software. Nightmare Setup These do not come with the USB hookup necessary to skirt the frustrating WiFi process, and things magically work hours after you've tried to set it up. The printer functions as expected and the print quality is high, but this WiFi device was a painful nightmare to set up. Help articles on the online support didn't address any of the errors or issues we were having, and the tiny display for setup on our router was a headache.
