You get what you pay for I've had this about a year now and have to say it's not worth the hassle. I thought I would save money because I don;t need to print two sided as much, but it really does not print two sided well at all. If you need a printer that just works, this is not it, spend a little more money and save yourself some hassle.
Do not buy, move on to something better. Worst printer ever. Muted colors, never vivid even when just printing black. And yes Brother, I'm using your way too expensive, brand of toner so stop with the customer service blame game.
Not worth the price The print quality was not up to par for the price of this printer. It was never sharp or crisp, always pixelated. And I'm not using a toner saving function. The printer also ghosts prints... often (see second photo)... it printed a lighter copy of whatever I'm printing further down the paper. And to be compact, this thing is big and heavy. It definitely wasn't worth the money. Sending it back and getting something else.
Returned it.defective I have ordered and returned so many printers on amazon. I dont know if its just me who gets a defective printer. I hated the printjng quality of this printer.however at my office we have a similar one and it prints perfect

Grainy Color not solid Color has been grainy since day one. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong so I left it alone over the holidays and just got back to it. Too late to return. Feel like tossing it and buying HP! 😭😭😭
No aqua color, light blue or turquoise This printer is giving me so much trouble, specially colors like light blue, aqua and turquoise you cant get those colors. I called brother ans they couldnt do anything! Look for another option
bad for scanning If you need a paper feeder this is not for you. it only scans 1 page at a time. You have to read the fine details to figure this out.
Broke and no local service center Terrible customer support - no local service center in Austin TX -- go figure - repair cost was a rip off anyway and not possible to ship so was complete writeoff -- stay away from Brother products
