We received an offer at 9:30pm requiring that we accept by the next day at 5:00pm. No where in the letter, offer, contract, or any other communication was it disclosed that the sale was contingent on a third party's interest. After jumping through all of the hoops and getting our acceptance in by 5:00, HPA backed out two hours later. The realtor representing them (their agent) told us that HPA backed out because the third party who was interested in the house was no longer interested. #4 in the buyer's disclosure allows them... read more

the application process is way longer than it needs to be or should be! I applied at the beginning of the month, they called and I was away from my phone, I called back less than 2 minutes later and couldn't get a hold of anyone. That was May 5th and I was told 5-7 days for a callback..... MEANWHILE 12 days later I still haven't gotten a call back, customer service has no info, no response to my emails and I'm just waiting. I'm afraid if the application process takes this long I will never get a house especially in today's m... read more

I put in offers on at least 12 homes and did not get a single one. Part of it is the craziness of the market. However, I lost out one two houses because the offer was not processed in time. Home partners was not aggressive enough in their offers on at least 3-4 other homes. Very very disappointed.

My husband and I applied and were pre-approved for houses in the Chicagoland area. We received home calls from people in India claiming to work for this company and pestering us with information about houses we weren't interested in. Either the security behind the website is dramatically lacking or this company is frighteningly removed from the type of process we wanted for our home-seeking experience. In retrospect, I regret reaching out to this company.

Business response:

Hi Rebecca. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we are sorry to hear that you have been receiving these calls. Prospective residents should not be experiencing this during their application process or at any point during our program. If you could please reach out to us directly at marketing@homepartners.com with as much information as possible so we can investigate further, we would greatly appreciate it.

Originally I was interested in buying the HP home, but Pathlight strikes again. I was interested because I was new to the area and did not know if I wanted to live in that area. Love the area so plan on staying! Home Partners would be better without them as people are continuously upset and speaking to one another now about the inconsistencies, treated differently, etc., they are being. They have received complaints regarding Pathlight but they still choose to use the company for management so run away if it is one of the h... read more

I will update my review once I hear back. We were approved, but you guys are only going off of my income and didn’t include my husband’s at first because we hadn’t submitted check stubs (he hadn’t received them yet). So after we submitted them, we then got a response stating that he didn’t meet “minimum background requirements”. He has no criminal history. I’ve called every day this week and they told me to send an email to the applications team (which I did). But they aren’t giving us any answers. My realtor even talked to ... read more

They are supposed to buy homes. This is what they do. You would think they would know how to do this part of their jobs. Nope. We submitted a offer, they have been stuck in negotiations for days now. Every time I call they say no offer has been agreed upon. Yet my Agent tells me its under contract, the listing on the web says its under contract. Home Partners~Nothing new here. I'm tired of this crap. I wouldn't use them ever again.
