very disappoint about the hotel's condition tiny small room. dirty carpet. Not worth to spend $524 plus $40 parking

We were so excited to be staying here and then reality set in. The room was not updated. Windows / screens were not secure. The floor was not vacuumed. Stains on the chairs / foot rests. The second night had fighter pilots flying ALL night long, this was a Monday night. When I attempted to discuss this with the morning staff, her response was "I didn't hear ANYTHING". Sad in San Diego We booked a cabana / fire pit room. Our view was going to be construction with a 7am noise wake up call everyday. The only way to avoid that was downgrading our room but paying the same price. Not a lot of care for Hilton honors members. Not to mention we didn’t get into our room until over an hour after check in time. Zero concessions made or apologies given. They have no lobby so our family had to wait in rain / cold weather. Less than stellar beginning to our sons birthday trip.
Big Ant problem - rude staff. We were really excited to stay at Hotel del Coronado. We've wanted to stay there for years. We checked in to our room, to see the "view" was of a construction lot. However, we decided it wasn't a big deal and we were going to enjoy the rest of the hotel. We went out for a walk, and came back to find HUNDREDS of ants in our room!!! While I appreciate the historical significance and age of the hotel, I was very disappointed in the hotel at the price point we paid. The hotel is under not minor but major construction. Due to that and COVID, many amenities are not available. Therefore, things like umbrellas and chairs for the beach or even parking should either be included or at a substantial discount. Instead, an umbrella for the day $30, chair $25. Parking $40. Ridiculous. Many shops are not open and customer service is mediocre at best. Don’t waste your... read more
