I have wanted to stay here for years and love historic buildings - so my disappointment was a surprise. While I found the slant of the hallway ceiling -charming and somewhat expected from a 130-year-old hotel, I did not expect obvious layers of 100 years of paint, dingy window sills, a poorly appointed room - uncomfortable bed, sofa, chairs, etc. Not at all what I had been looking forward to experiencing.

The room hadn’t been painted or upgraded since Nixon in White House. Doors and windows wood warped. Ceiling low. Bathroom from 1970s.

This place it’s super update! You spent 400 dollars a night for an old room with a super small window and the bathrooms looks like from the after world war 2!! Very disappointing!! O you change the prices or update the freaking rooms! Like this it’s a scam!

The location is fabulous however the hotel is less so and the front desk staff are fairly useless. Be mindful that the hotel has spent a lot of time on their website so what you most likely will not get what you think you paid for.

To much money for a room that I didn’t enjoy b/c construction and people in the front are very unprofessional
