Horrible Customer Service; outrageous cost Horrible experience. For nearly $600 a night, we were put in an ocean view room in the tower. The tower is the equivalent of a Days Inn or Howard Johnson’s even though the cost is that of The Montage or Ritz Carlton. We had to pay $230 more to move to a nicer room in the old building. We were not informed by Expedia when booking that the hotel was under construction. We were woken up at 6:30 a.m. by construction daily. We complained to the Hotel Del and they assured us this wouldn’t happen again but it did. There was a safety issue on our last night. In the turret room there was someone (not construction workers) above making noise, security was called to investigate and we were moved immediately to a new room. There is construction on one side of the resort (all back views from tower). They are letting folks book these rooms on Expedia and other sites without warning of it. I awoke to find 21 construction men outside my window at 7 am starting to work on heavy equipment. My entire window view was nothing but constructions. Hilton should simply not be booking these rooms. Staff indicated construction will take 2 years to finish. So be careful when booking.

This place was a dump! In the middle of renovations of which we were unaware. Thus, walking from room to car pickup site was a half mile each way. The room was dated and dirty carpets. This place is a over rated and for the price we paid one would expect something more desirable. Our rooms overlooked a construction site with portapotties, construction equipment, noise and dirt being leveled! Left after 10 minutes - we weren’t told the hotel was under construction. They gave us a dingy noisy room overlooking the construction portolets and when we complained they stated they didn’t have any other rooms and were very rude. Will never go back.
Very disappointing stay at Hotel Del So disappointed that we chose to stay at Hotel del Coronado this past weekend. Two major points. We booked and pre-paid in full several months in advance but upon arrival at 8pm at night, our room was not ready! It was President's Day weekend, but overall terrible mismanagement when you know you have confirmed/paid reservations. Room overlooked construction zone, booked a kind size room and got two double beds. Very, VERY upset.
Disappointed at the Del!! The construction was unreal, it was in every area of the hotel. There was not enough room to sit and enjoy a drink it was crowded and with the construction everyone was shoved into small areas. It was horrible. NO POOL, NOTHING. I was so disappointed and was still charged over $1000 for the weekend. Disgusting Hotel Del.I will never stay there again!!
