we had a stinky room and checked out immediatly . Nice stuff who accepted our cancellation immidiatly . I suggest that this house gets a generell renovation , specially for the prices they charge per night

Our room was dirty, there was no notice of the construction/renovations on Expedia (which there usually is), we had no hot water for half of our stay and the entrance of the hotel was moved due to the construction. I was on crutches after a recent knee surgery and had to walk across the entire property to get to the valet! Not a good experience.
Business response:
Dear Traveler, It’s extremely disappointing to hear about stays like this. In order to enhance guests’ experiences at our 131-year-old hotel, we are currently making the necessary updates. I apologize this information was not properly disclosed to you prior to arrival. Guest safety is our number one priority and I’m sorry we didn’t provide adequate accommodations for your post-surgery needs. I’m terribly sorry your stay fell short of typical Del standards, but there are beautiful changes to come and I hope you return one day... read more
When booking, we didn’t realize we’d be separated from the main hotel in a comparatively run-down structure. When we arrived, we had valet take our car ($50) and walked Our room overlooked a huge noisy construction site and featured broken lighting, a very noisy air conditioner and a bathroom with no ventilation.
Business response:
Dear Traveler, I’m so sorry we provided this kind of experience. In order to maximize guest satisfaction, we are currently making the necessary changes to our 131-year-old hotel. I apologize for the inconvenience. The condition of your guest room upon arrival is absolutely unacceptable and I hope you can accept my deepest apologies for this mishap. The property is currently under renovation for the next 4 months.
I’ve stayed at a lot of nice resorts and this was very underwhelming for how costly it is. My mother always wanted to stay at the Del so I booked a nice stay here however our Victorian room was mediocre with no view (windows faced a closed veranda with no access and was the interior of the hotel) and startlingly had staff walking outside our windows to fix something I presume. Bedding was terrible; 2 flat pillows and a heavy sheet. We had to call for extra blankets and it took over an hour to receive them (at 10pm!). That wa... read more
Business response:
Dear Cara, I’m sorry we left you with this impression of the Hotel del Coronado. Our Victorian Building offers over a century’s worth of history, but I apologize for the less than luxurious accommodations and underwhelming view. We go to great lengths shielding the restoration work from our guests, but we’re not always successful as we strive to be. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience along with some of our amenities being unavailable. I value your input and will definitely make note of the aspects which are in need ... read more
