The $380 room in the Ocean Towers overlooked the main trash bin area and a very busy construction site. The workers were at it all day with jack hammers and moving trucks, loading and unloading dirt. We were woken up by the outside noise at 6 am when the construction started and kept awake by hammering inside the hallway and adjacent rooms all morning. Room (in the Ocean Towers) was average at a premium price. Dingy and dirty. Chewing gum (previous guest) stuck on top of shower head, carpet was suspect. View was 25% ocean, 75% construction site with construction debris. It rained at night, the sound of the rain and breeze outside was pleasant. INSIDE, however, it sounded like rain gutters were imbedded in the walls. All night, with the rain, it sounded like someone was stirring a metal bucket filled with ice in the room. The staff was dismissive and didn't help much. The hotel was under construction. It was over crowded and under staffed. We got lost several times due to poor lighting and no directions. A lot of things in the room didn't work.

We had issue with construction and they provided an experience jnstead but felt tkkke front desk didn’t care or have any empathy since we booked through a 3rd party. They made us feel badly for not booking directly with hotel and that they can’t help change reservations bc we booked through a 3rd party but that isn’t true. They can change reservations and room types - they are the property.

I was not told that the property was undergoing MAJOR renovation, with earthmoving equipment making high levels of noise. I would not have stayed here if I had known. Also, there was NO internet, WiFi or telephone service. I should receive a full refund.

Room was not clean and bad musty smell.. Rooms need to be updated. It was certainly not what we expected for high priced "deluxe" resort.

Extremely Disappointed The Hotel Del was a huge disappointment. We stayed 2 nights in the Ocean Tower. Our room had worn stained carpet, the bathroom door had a chuck missing and the paint was peeling. The ceiling had been patched but not painted. The room was just awful. We spoke with 2 other guests while riding in the elevator, one on the 7th floor and another on the 2nd floor, they both agreed, the rooms were crappy. There was a lot of construction going on, we had to walk thru a construction path just to get to our room.... read more
