Such a gorgeous historic property. Loved the cabana rooms, but quite a trek to self park from that side of the resort.
We stayed in a cabana room with a view of the pool. It was a good choice as the room was amazing and much more up to date than the older hotel rooms. My biggest complaint is the parking charges that go along with the resort fee and historic preservation fee. Expect an extra $100 per day for the combination.

Since I came to USA in 1996 and was visiting San Diego and Coronado island many times, I had a dream to stay in this hotel. And it's not about Merylin Monroe or some other celebrities, who were staying in this hotel. It is something very attractive and mystic about the whole area, which I cannot explain. And, on top of it, I like old buildings and architecture much more than contemporary. And I knew that my mom will like it, so I decided to spend some mother-daughter time in Del Coronado. We were happy to stay there.

We loved staying in this Historic property but were constantly surprised by the cost. Everything seemed to have an additional charge. Beach chairs, seats by fire pits, bikes. Hard to see what was included in “resort fee” besides the pool. Staff were wonderful and property is delightful but be prepared to spend a lot of money on incidentals.
Beautiful location, beautiful view, but the services were not very well. Check in was slow. The room was noisy. The bathroom door was hard to open and making big noise. These should be fixed if they charge $97.99 occupancy tax! We asked for a wine opener, it never came. Valet parking charged $75, but took 30 mins to get the car. Overall was Ok, but honestly, not as good as we would expected.
