Incompetent. That's the best thing I can say about them. Overbooked patients. Poorly trained staff. They changed my appointment time then failed to update their own calendar/planner. I waited over an hour and never saw a vet.
I've been taking my pets to Huron Animal Hospital for years, same with my family. I've always had a wonderful experience with the staff and the treatment my pets have recieved. Recently I called to find out about available appointments for my dog Maverick and didn't realize that the woman I spoke with actually set the appointment. I received a letter about a missed appointment and the fee that is attached. We took our little yorkie in for a standard teeth cleaning, when we picked her up she had had 7 teeth extracted, dr. Norris said the teeth were loose so he took them out. We didn't get a phone call or any notification that any procedure other than cleaning was being performed. When I talked to dr. Norris all he wanted to say is the teeth needed to come out, I told him he didn't have the authority to make that decision, then the conversation got heated and he stormed out of the room. Lousy service. Always a long wait if you don't have an 'appointment' but the appointment times are always full first thing in the morning. Suggest going someplace else. I will be.
Called to get prices and the girl that answered the phone was very rude and short with me. Seemed like she had better things to do then answer my questions. They lost my potential business.
The fact this place gets to call themselves an animal hospital is an abomination. I understand a balance must occur for any business with respect to the level of care given. This place however fully appears to be set up to make money and not to care for animals. "If care occurs, that's great, but let's make some money" should be their motto. We have been taking our dogs to this office for their whole life (3 years) and have had mostly pleasant experiences until recently, which is why we will never be bringing them back. This is by far the most unprofessional veterinary office I have ever been to. Their front desk staff is incredibly rude and unorganized, some of their doctors are pushy with vaccinations and medications, and completely careless when it comes to animals. I have used HAH for decades, I used to really believe in them. That has changed in the past year. We took our one cat in about a month ago and the vet, probably Dr. Heller barely looked at our cat that had hair loss, and weight loss. This cat has experienced worms before and our old vet prescribed medication. This vet didn't bother to do a thorough exam other than take blood work. I went to this vet because they were recommended. I have another vet that I typically go to but wanted to talk to another place about a growth on my cat's head. Initially I was happy, the lady who checked me in was pleasant. When I went back to the exam room with my baby (cat) the vet and assistant seemed nice. They wanted to take blood from my baby to prepare for her surgery so they took her in the back.
