Found this gem on a recent visit to DC. I was looking for a bookstore where I could have a meal and work for a little bit. Kramers did not disappoint. There were only a few people on the restaurant side when I arrived, so I got quick service. I was planning to work there for a while, so I ordered tea, an appetizer, and meal. The salmon Benedict and accompanying greens were PERFECT. And the deviled eggs with Old Bay seasoning also left me wanting more and more. Will definitely be back and recommend to other folks!
Kramer's is a lovely spot to eat and work at. I ordered the Fettuccine New Orleans and it was flavorful and so light! The weather was nice today so I sat outside in the garden area and it was very calming. Service was phenomenal, initially I couldn't order an iced mocha because their coffee machine broke so my server gave me an iced coffee on the house until it was fixed!
Nice little bookstore. It was really crowded the Saturday morning we went. We got brunch in the restaurant in the back of the bookstore. I had the yogurt parfait and my partner had the Kramers breakfast. Both were mediocre and I felt too expensive for the quality and taste. Would have given it a 2 but extra star for being inside a bookstore I guess.

Hello Veronica, this is helpful feedback. Please contact us at info@kramers.com so we can discuss.
We had a lovely brunch at Kramers. We arrived around 1:30pm and were seated immediately. We had brunch cocktails to begin. I ordered the chicken and waffles, which was a good sized portion and came with coleslaw. The chicken had a good breading, and the butter on the waffle had a nice seasoning. I also tried the cornbread pudding, which was decent, but not worth going out of your way to order. The chocolate pudding was divine and good for sharing. Service was fairly slow, and we had to flag down our waitress multiple times, ... read more
I woke up this morning with a hankering for hearty breakfast food. In the search bar of my phone's Safari app, I entered: 'breakfast joint that ain't skimpin' on the eggs'. The top result was 'Kramers'. 'Hmmm, Kramers', I thought to myself, 'Pretty edgy name for a Seinfeld-themed brunch spot'. Sure, the guy is racist, but I guess he deserves a restaurant? Turns out, however, that Kramers is not another one of Larry David's creative endeavors. Instead, it is a DC's stronghold institution that has been serving the community... read more
Way better food than I expected for a bookstore!! Def recommend getting having a French Soda, they're fun and yummy. We were lucky to be there during a trivia night so that was cool. Service was friendly :)
Experience: I enjoyed visiting Kramers Bookstore. Check this out: clean, dog friendly, full bar and restaurant with patio for your pup and an escape room. So come cuddle with your furry friend while you read a book with a glass of wine. Now you can really work remotely and "drink on the job" Food: I had the mushroom ravioli and the champagne salad. The ravioli was really flavorful on the inside but the sauce could've used some more salt. My friend had the ALL Day burger and BBQ fries and she demolished it and a table near u... read more
Food was great, ambiance was comforting as usual, and service tied everything together thanks to Thomas!
The book selection is great but the staff don't seem to know much about their own inventory. They seem more preoccupied by how cool they are. There's a stark difference in the service you get depending on whether a staff member perceives you to be a part of their clique. For local business, it really doesn't have that neighborhood vibe in the bookstore. The bar has great cocktails and nice service. The restaurant is not a place I'd recommend, especially given all the other options in the area, but the service is decent.
