Came for brunch on a busy Easter Sunday afternoon with friends and my dog. Both the outdoor and indoor seating were packed but the wait time was surprisingly short (10 min) and service was super courteous and efficient throughout. Kramers is a very doggo-friendly place as many customers had doggos with them, all with their own water bowls. While my group and I waited for our table, a server brought my dog her own bowl of water, unprompted!! Honestly was so wow'd that I intend to return for the great service alone. We all... read more

I didn't eat here so no comments on the food. But as far as book collection go, I would say it was average. Also it wasn't a big bookstore either. I don't know what the hype is for; I like books so I am giving it 3 stars. But really if you don't go here you aren't missing anything. A lot more things to do in DC.

Business response:

Bookstore + Brunch = perfect Sunday afternoon. Stopped into Kramer's this Sunday for brunch. It was a warm DC day so we sat outside. Our server was prompt and attentive. We ordered the chicken and waffles: new Orleans pasta; brussel sprouts; french 75 and cold brew (espresso) martini. The drinks were very good as we're the brussel sprouts as an appetizer. They came with this delicious cream sauce on top that put them over the edge. I had the chicken and waffles which was fantastic. I'm not a big fan of Belgian waffles but ... read more

Vary interesting menu, deliciously done, high energy clientele, fun and cool vibe. Busy but the wait is not long. And worth it. Pork hash & crab sandwich perfect.

It's been years since I was here, wanted to come with my daughter and an old out-of-town friend. We did make reservations, there were a few open tables on a pretty warm March Thursday evening around 6:30. Super friendly staff all around. We had a running joke about ordering dessert first which the server played along with. Teen girl is picky, pal is hard vegetarian. Kramers did great with the food. We had fried artichoke hearts, girl had chicken and waffles (destroyed it), friend had the veggie Cali Dagwood sandwich (e... read more

in dupont circle, this bookstore/cafe combo is a great spot to chill. ordered the chicken and waffle with a latte, which were both really solid. the chicken had a bit of spice to it, and the waffle were pretty crunchy and tasty. the latte was pretty standard, tasted great. the service was great and the staff gave us a really pleasant experience. the whole vibe of the place was really cute with great ambiance, even on the rainy day that we went. absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting dc.

Fantastic food!!!!! Definitely definitely get the fettuccine new orleans, it's absolute bliss!!! Perfect creaminess for sauce (not too heavy), just right portion size, and fantastic shrimp and seafood with chicken and roasted red peppers and onions! Truly the best fettuccine I've had, and i'm a huge fettuccine fan :) My friends got the Chicken and waffles which were okay, not the best. the chicken is not as crunchy or tasty as other chicken and waffles i've had, and the waffle is not the best waffle i've had either. Another ... read more

I recall my first time going into a Bookstore for lunch(late 70's) it was delightful then and so was yesterday evening as I wondered in from another spot in DuPont Circle. The hickory smoked chicken wings were pretty good and the ambience was a pleasant surprise with a live jazz trio band.
