My friend and I went here for lunch. She had never had Burmese food and I'm a fan of some Burmese restaurants across the Bay. I was happy San Carlos finally got its own. The mango chicken is delicious. The coconut rice is the best choice with it (our server agreed). My friend went with the server's suggestion and got a rice noodle dish that he mixed up for her. I've tried their location in Palo Alto several times, so wanted to see how this location stacked up. The San Carlos location is definitely smaller, but it has a very cozy feeling, doesn't feel cramped or crowded. As with their other location, the food is wonderful. We started with the palata (always wonderful), then moved onto the Pumpkin Chicken stew, Sesame beef, House fried rice, and the String Beans (which can be a little too spicy unless you ask for mild). My husband and I had the opportunity to dine here last week and we really enjoyed it. Great food and great service. Everything was very good - we loved the chopped tea salad. Wish we could have tried more dishes, but we got full. We will definitely come back.
First time we went for lunch and we loved their food and friendly staff and great service, great tea leaves salad, never had it before and it was just delicious, everything was very tasty and a lot of vegetarian dishes as well!

This was my second visit to Rangoon Ruby's. I had lunch the first time. It was great. My husband and friends enjoyed it soo much. We had the calamari for and appetizer, shared a Burmese chicken salad. Everything was excellent!!!We had the chili beef, the sesame beef, salmon with vegetables and the deep fried salmon balls. Outstanding!!!
I was pleasantly surprized as to what a hip and trendy restaurant this was. The food was so flavorable and I loved my whole coconut drink. The flat screen T.V's outside and inside the restaurant were a fun touch. A bright, minimal, hip place with delecious clean and flavorful food@ 2 thumbs up.
Ruby Rangoon is a perfect blend of traditional elegance with a slight hint of trendiness. Having reservations we were seated promptly by our cheerful hostess Samantha.
