Get directionsDon't ever bring your pets here. My wife brought my cat Mango. For a checkup. They charged us 1000 dollars for an X-ray ray and blood tests that weren't even needed. Turns out he has an abscess. Way to go you inept morons. You proved once again how 24 hour vets should not be trusted under any circumstance You are as useless as can be.
Do NOT take any pet you care about here. Please, do not. There are many other choices in our area. I am a 40-year per owner who has been through more than my share of crises and chronic illness, but this is the most horrible place I've ever sought treatment at. They do not communicate. They left my dog untreated inside for long periods of time while I waited cluelessly in the parking lot (due to Covid restriction). Did not even look at her for the first 2.5 hours I waited, and never let me know what was going on. We were... read more
DO NOT GO HERE!!! This place is a rip off and only cares about money. I brought my dog here the other day because she had gotten attacked by another dog and had open wounds. She clearly needed stitches because the wound was open and blood was gushing out. They held my dog for an hour while they had me think they are stitching her up. Instead, they were shaving her whole body down instead of taking care of the open whole on her back and handed her back to me with with no bandages and blood going down her leg. I HAVE NEVER EXP... read more
Our pets are our family. When we separate from our pets, it's very traumatic for us and for our pets. I visited LIVS for an emergency. They wound up keeping my dog for a just a few days. No surgery, but a bill of over $10k for various tests and scans and such. In addition to their disproportionate prices vs the actual services provided, I truly feel this place is a sausage factory. Meaning crazy busy practice, many employees, chaotic feeling, never speak to same person when you call, terrible communication, p... read more

Hi Racer, we appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. We apologize for the experience that you've described in your review. Unfortunately, all veterinary ER and specialty hospitals in our area have extensive wait times and are seeing extremely high patient volumes. Our team is working to help as many pets as we can without turning away anyone whose pet needs help. If you should have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out (516) 501-1700.

Hi Shelby, we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for the inconvenience, however, at this time our exam rooms and lobby are currently under construction. We are working to expand and make upgrades at our hospital to better serve the pets of our community. We look forward to welcoming our patients and pet parents back inside the building once our construction project is complete. If you should have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out (516) 501-1700.
I hate to say it, but LIVS has gone downhill since it was purchased by a huge veterinary hospital chain a couple of years ago. That chain was subsequently purchased by another chain of pet hospitals and then THAT chain was just purchased by JAB, the huge German conglomerate that owns Krispy Kreme, Dr. Pepper, Panera, Peet's Coffee, etc.... JAB and Mars, the candy company, now own many of the pet hospitals in the US (they own over 1000 practices each!) and are creating monopolies with huge pricing power. We just took our ... read more

Hi there, We are unable to identify a patient record under the name provided, but we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. As a veterinary emergency and specialty center, our pricing does differ from primary practices, due to the advanced diagnostics, around-the-clock care, and the level of expertise from our trained veterinarians and support staff. That being said, our prices are comparable to other emergency veterinary hospitals in our area. It's also important to note that not all doctors will have the same... read more
My daughter took our pet there with cracked and open wounds on his paw pads. I agree with one of the 1 star reviews. It is truly a money sucking facility Dr X-rayed my dogs leg that was not our complaint. Dr Laughin took care of my dog on a Monday ,waited from 11 am to 7 pm and gave him an antibiotic that is known cause ligament tears, which she said he might have. By the way my Dog was seen at 4 pm. I called on a Tuesday to get the antibiotic changed. No call back. I called on Wednesday 2 times before noon. No call bac... read more

Hi Linda, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. According to our medical records, your dog presented to our hospital for forelimb and hindlimb lameness. Since we are an emergency and specialty hospital and we do not see your pet on a regular basis like your primary veterinarian would, we require diagnostic testing in order to determine the root cause of discomfort. Our doctors will discuss a possible diagnosis and treatment plan based on that testing and based on the patient's provided medical history. We pro... read more
What an unfortunate place. Our dog got sick and needed care at about 10pm. So put yourself in our shoes. We are rushing out the door to get emergency care, and we just need a 24h care place. We were told we made the right call, and they gave lots of treatment for our dog's condition. It was approximately 48 hours between us dropping our dog off and getting her back. While our dog is fine, we had to call the vet for every update. When our dog was returned to us, she had a severe abrasion on her nose, and she smelled sim... read more
Only 1 star bc 0 stars is not an option! Avoid this place at all costs! Only care about the money and squeezing every dollar they can - seem to look at each pet as a cash register. Leeches - taking advantage of caring pet owners who of course want to do whatever they can, recommending surgeries, tests, overnight stays, physical therapy, etc...My 11yo Boston Terrier had spinal surgery 5 years ago. Last month, she was having trouble walking so we bring her to LIVS. Of course, they "recommend" surgery but leave it to us to... read more
