Stay away! This place is a circus. The entire staff is poorly trained and have no clue what they are doing. They only want your money. They will try to get as much money out of you as they can. And then they still dont know what is wrong with your pet. Save your time and money and go to a real veterinarian. Nothing but a bunch of clowns here.

I'm not one who usually complains, I have never given a negative review to any business in my life. I always try to understand both sides of any situation when it comes to business. Without every last detail I have to share that the experience I had at "LIVS" (Long Isand Vet Specialist ) has left me traumatized. Truly horrible treatment was given to my dachshund when we took him there on 1/30/22 he needed immediate treatment and the night time crew was interested in obtaining our credit card information before action was given needless to say our beloved pet was put to rest. We were devasted on how uncompassionate this was handled. The next day when we picked up our pet he was given to us in a horrible box. ***WARNING*** If you want be respected/treated as a worried animal owner and a fast response about your animal PLEASE take them some where else.I took my dog there at 11:30 am and was not seen until 5pm. My dog ended up having to stay the night and I was told by the vet in charge (Dr.Marino) that it was going to cost me $3,000, I told him it didn't matter to me as long as my dog got the attention he needed I'd pay whatever. If I could give them a rating to put them out of business I would. That was the worst experience I have ever had with medical professionals! Your practice should absolutely never in life exist and you should never say you are in a helping profession. You are cold, unprofessional and void of any sort of compassion or humanity. Make sure to ask for an estimate first as they just add on more and more fees and do not want to call or ask for authorization. This has happened three times here with them. They don't answer the phones during the day at times...getting a callback is painful during visits there. They are refusing to allow anyone in with pets "due to covid" (October 2021 while restaurants and doctors offices and stores are open) and we recently had a surgery consult without ever seeing the surgeon over the phone - not even a zoom call. TL;DR--Almost killed my cat due to negligence, but also has some great departments. I've had great experiences with some departments and terrible with others. Ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery were very good. We mostly had trouble with internal medicine. Overall, yes they charge you a lot and you won't get talked through it so it feels like your money is flying out of your hands. This place is horrible. All they care about is money and making a sale. We came here because of the recommendation by our vet. After an accident, our vet did some x rays on our family doggie. He thinks it was not serious. So he put some bandages on him and sent us home. He also told us we could go if we wish a specialist to take another look.
