I was recently here and would not go back. The staff was interesting in that they all talk to each other, but don't really engage with the clients very much. I ended up with an all over color after consult, and the color was WAY darker than what I wanted. It's pretty awful actually and I've been washing my hair like crazy to get some of it out. staff is a mixed bag and bathrooms and floors are a mess if you go in the evenings. The bathroom was out of toilet paper and the floor was covered with hair. . Kinda feeling stuck with the brand because it's a good product and it's a pain to switch.

I recently had an experience and I'd like to share. I wanted partial highlight and it took 30 min for the hairstylist to start doing it (I was on time for the appointment). When my hair was ready, the stylist washed my hair and I couldn't see my blonde highlights (I was very clear with the color I wanted not natural). They told me to dry my hair and then I'll see them. I wanted to move from brown to grey and I went for two appointments, which is expensive for me but my hair was still blonde and not what I want after partial foils. The service was alright the first time but they seemed overwhelmed and not helpful in terms of what I wanted the second time.

I paid with my credit card and still have the receipt as to my proof of services. I will never return to Madison Reed. I felt the services provided for me where not good.I hope you all start treating your customer better.

Had previously gotten very professional and wonderfully skilled stylists here, but this last time, I had a stylist who completely fried my hair and left it making my once beautiful and long hair looking like cruella devil's streaked straw-like hair. I ended up chopping off 10 inches and am left with short scraggly damaged hair. Will never go back. I used to love Madison Reed when Denny was there as the manager. WTF happened?! I had a batch that was bleached white and came off in a hairbrush. I told the current manager and she was unapologetic and told me not to brush my hair because it was fragile and more would fall out. (!) That was not comforting to hear.

If I could give it no star! I start by saying that I am a full time professional who has limited availability due to my work and family schedule. I needed full highlights and managed to schedule an appointments for 10am as I had read other yelp reviews with complaints about the salon often being late and having customers wait. Irritated scalp- beware-class action law suit in New York about harsh chemicals! As soon as she applied the color- my scalp started to itch! I asked if I could wash earlier and hit met with a ton of attitude. While suffering, I looked up the formula online and found there is a class action law suit in New York about advertising how one in two people are affected. I got washed and left as soon as I could. Not everyone is affected but don't return if you are! Beware!
