I'm hoping my review would help them make improve because I would consider coming back. I have dark hair and need my roots colored every month. I've tried this location twice, same person who did the color and washed my hair. I agree with the others that they don't do a good job applying the dye because there was so much dye on around my neck, ears and sides of my face. I have been wanting to go to Madison Reed for years since the other location. Since I feel my hair is due for a color change and the place I used to go to has closed down. I went for the first time. Like the color selections. Like the location and the inside seems welcoming. The beginning is not so bad in how the dye is applied to my hair. TERRIBLE salon experience! I have been a customer at this location for close to year. A month ago, I went in for my scheduled appt at 10am. They had just opened and it was obvious they were understaffed. The person assigned to me was 15 mins late, then started consulting others across the salon before heading over to me. My color was always fine here. That's not the issue. I started coming here during the pandemic when Hayes Valley was struggling. I stuck around as the neighborhood improved but service inside the salon crumbled. Roots touchups began taking 2-3 hours. I brought my laptop and didn't complain. Then one day, I left my Airpods behind at one of the last appointments of the day. DO NOT COME HERE, this color bar has serious problems and very naviace colorists who slap on color and leave it stained all over forehead. The manager is arrogant, smug, bullying and rude. Should not be managed by him/her. No wonder it's impossible to book in other locations and not here. Get your hair treated by professionals

I have been coming here for a few years now. The staff has become more rude every time that I return. They hardly speak to clients and often shout conversation to one another across the salon. Appointments typically start 10-45 minutes late with no explanation or apology. There is no receptionist. The Manager seems to change every few months. The quality of the service varies wildly. Bad customer service. Hairdresser said " i dont have time for this" when asked to explain about the hair coloring product. My hair was not parted well when color was applied. hair color was applied in a hurry with no parting of hair in smaller parts. Rude customer service. Whites still in my roots.

I drove from 17 miles away to come here. Booked online and they were having a special. When I came in... they told me straight up they don't do all over color but I selected that online! Then they said they don't do highlights or what I wanted. And the associates were saying not to come here themselves and that they don't come here themselves and recommended some place else to go to They said that their website is not updated And it YOURE 18 YEARS OLD YOU CANT COME IN! You have to be OVER 18 to come! How ridiculous right?
