Purchased my home back in 2020 and have had issues with humidity in the second floor basement. These are spray foam homes and very prone to mold and humidity without the proper air circulation. My particular model has two attics, and only one had a return and supply vent installed to manage the humidity. I've had several warranty tickets opened to address the issue, and Meritage has refused to address. They've even sent out Airtron who is their vendor for A/C install and they have confirmed it needs vents in the second attic... read more

The sales and walk thru process was mostly good with a few hiccups along the way. There were some structural things that weren’t clearly communicated in the initial process, but I had already invested too much to pull out. The loan process was sketchy from the beginning. Meritage's mission statement includes comments like "built with care and superior craftsmanship" and "..to create exceptional experiences for our customers.." It is a shame that from day 1 our home was not built with care or any type of craftsmanship and has been a terrible experience. The plan of homes and quality of material is very low as compared to other builders. Delay in delivery, no response on follow-ups. Warranty tickets denials. The most important is landscaping. They use cheapest available option to work on and provide only 90 days of warranty on lawn. They lay down the grass just before closing so you'll not have enough time to see the grass is settled or not. Later everything is out of pocket. I only put 1 star because I had to! NEVER purchase a meditate home!!! My husband and I were in the process of building a meditate in Marana, AZ. Closing was great they were fast and on top of it but after that I would say it went down hill. Moved in over an month ago and fridge still on back order we were told 4-6 weeks but for some reason I ask in email and gets ignored. Warranty is a pain BUYER BEWARE> they give warranties however "recommended" by Grace and Meritage they want you do it ALL at the end of the year. Posted for the third time: We bought our home in Park View Glen in October of 2020. At the time most of the community was still under construction. We were shown pictures of how the subdivision would look and all the amenities it would offer. The buying process was pretty simple and easy. Building with Meritage Homes has been the worst experience. We were told by the pushy realtor when signing the house would be done no later than June 1st so we went ahead with this house. Ever since signing it has been extremely difficult to get any updates. We finally get an update the end of May and they tell us it wont be ready until the end of June. I was initially happy. Bought a model home told it was clean and everything checked. Unfortunately I did not get paperwork with the services performed. When I called months later to get the papers on the HVAC and furnace cleaning. It was not done, told the building person or manager looked at it and said it wasn’t needed.
