if I could leave zero stars I would. My daughter got a court ordered conservatorship over me, and as a former banker, I am appalled at how Metro credit union is handling this. After keeping her in the office for over four hours, they had to "have the legal department look at it." and that could take one to two business days. They accommodate it by giving her a very small percentage enough to cover this weeks care, are we supposed to take that as a kind gesture? Run. We took out a mortgage with Metro because we didn't want our loan being solid off and serviced by one of the big services. Joke's on us. When interest rates dipped slightly before closing, I emailed our broker and person doing the processing about giving us the lower rate, and they failed to respond (despite responding to other messages). WORST BANK I'VE EVER HAD TO WORK WITH. The car I bought & they convinced me into financing because it was "cheaper" has lead me to have to work with this bank and I want to wish everyone to RUN FAR AWAY! I paid my car off in August 2024 and to this day, I am still receiving "$5.00 interest fees" owed for an account I closed in 2024. I have spoken with the worst customer service who gaslights you and tries to charge you $10.00 for paying these bills over the phone. I have been a customer for close to 30 years with this credit union I have never in the past had any issues but now I have a direct deposit that shows pending called the bank to have them release the hold of pending and post it to my available balance because I truly needed right away due to a emergency situation I called the bank and asked them if they could release it and according to them they don't have the authority to do that how is it possible that I Bank or a credit union doesn't have the authority to release funds t... read more

Called to set up an online account so that I could view statements for my car loan. Provided my social security number over their "secure line" so that they could locate my account. Once my account was located, they could not set up my online account because they needed me to provide my loan number (which they had on hand, by the way). They refused to provide me with my loan number because they said there was so much electronic fraud. I have had a savings account with Metro Credit Union for 10 years. I have used it as a savings account. I always put extra money away for future purchases etc. At one time my balance was $20,000 when I was saving up for a down payment on a house. Recently MCU has charged my account with fees and depleted my balance down to $0.00. They basically took funds from my savings account. I will not be doing business with this credit union anymore.
The phone support is HORRIBLE!!! I spent hours over the course of 3 days trying to get info on opening another account-member for 34 years now. For the last month you hear "we are experiencing hi-call volume please leave a message and we'll get back in 48 HOURS but the menu has no leave message option!!! When I have gotten someone it's all mis-information, not a good feeling when they have your money! If a firm can't handle a call center THEY SHOULD FIX IT-this is totally unacceptable and person in charge should be fired!
No phone support- on hold 2 hours multiple times trying to get account unlocked- if you cant actually walk into the bank you will not be supported. Considering canceling membership.
This is by far the worst bank ever took money from my account with no explanation.sent money back to the dealer rude on the phone when we were asking about it . Gave 3 different answers why . I will never use them again
