Hands down the most frustrating, worst bank on earth. RUN. Don't think. RUN. The main reason I have not run yet is that I need to devote time to switch my accounts. They have REPEATEDLY bounced IRS and DOR checks that I deposited. You have to call them, input your details in the system, wait 15 min for a nonchalant employee to come on and say, give me your info again. He also comes up with his own rules and explanations. He says, perhaps, the IRS is not allowing mobile deposits. Thank you Genius, because you, star of the uni... read more
Inept. Do not do business with this bank. Customer representatives were unable to answer questions. Had to request a payoff 6 times before someone got back to me. A branch manager emailed me the payoff information but the attachment was blank. They routinely would take 2.5 weeks to clear my car payment checks. The only department that functions properly is... wait for it... collections. finally received a payoff amount after the nice collections woman requested it for me. I paid off the car, guessing at the amount. My guess w... read more
I have been a member since 1982. Never a problem until January 2021 and it's not due to COVID but system change. They put you into eternal hold if you try to call, no one returns calls and any help that you may get does not get followed thru. I am just trying to pay my credit card and they have made it impossible to do so. I will be closing my accounts and getting a credit card from somewhere else. I would advise signing up with DCU if you are looking for a credit union to join. Customer Service is not their priority a... read more
Have a house mortgage with Metro, which was working fine until they transitioned between systems and there was a hickup in the auto-transfer from my external bank account. Two payments were missed until I was notified at which point I immediately payed the balance and restarted the auto-transfer. Got dinged with late fees and late payment in my credit report. I've been calling Metro about this six times now and each time they tell me that this will be resolved since it wasn't my fault and that somebody will reach out to me.... read more
Worse customer service. I called last Friday to dispute a charge and I was told to come to the branch. Came in, taking a day off from work, for them to give me a phone number. The teller was on his cell phone mayority of the time that I was with him, before he called me he had me standing there while he was chatting about his lunch with another coworker, while there's a big line outside the bank waiting to be call.
I've had two large portfolio refinance/mortgages with Metro Credit Union. Both refinances were originally handled by Lucas Ross. I recently had several mortgage servicing questions regarding Metro Credit Union's home owners insurance requirements as I was about to switch home owners insurance providers. I contacted Lucas with my questions and he forwarded them to Marc Sinibaldi who works in mortgage servicing. Marc Sinibaldi never responded so I followed up the next day with Lucas Ross and requested a phone number that I co... read more
First year with them having an auto loan was fine. Was able to set up automated payments from my bank and they went through regularly. Then comes October 2020 with the changing of their online banking system. Worked with a rep for about an hour to set up my bank account for auto-payments again since all of my prior information had been purged. Received an email saying that my bank account had been set up and could be used for payments. Great, should be all set, right? Nope. Third week of November I receive a letter fr... read more
Pissed is an understatement! I've been with them since I was a teenager so a little over 15 years. They were a GREAT credit union where they treated you like family but now... ever since they started accepting anyone into the credit union and especially after rolling out their new "online/app" features, it's gone so far downhill. My checks aren't easily deposited anymore, rejected for no reason, can't access the app, speaking to a rep is difficult because you go through one rep to the next. Calling on the weekends is pointl... read more
I would never use this bank again. They updated their online banking which does not work! It doesn't allow to make payments and payments become overdue. I tried to get a loan elsewhere and was told I had a home equity loan with Metro that was closed in 2015 but they never updated their records. If you want to speak with someone, be prepared to be on hold up 2 hours ( I was on hold last Friday for 1 hour, 47 minutes! Their mortgage rates could be .5% and I would still go elsewhere!
