Please don't bank with Metro Credit Union. I opened an account with then just to have as back up and was told by several Metro Credit Union employees, including a manager, that I wasn't going to be charged any fees for not using it. 2 months later I'm charged $13 for inactivity. I've tried calling them on many different occasions to resolve this however, I'm left waiting to speak to someone for HOURS for them to eventually hang up as soon as I get someone live. I honestly wish I could give Metro Credit Union in General 0 Stars. Their Collections department/ Customer service is horrible. I went through Metro CU for my first Auto Loan which I have been doing just fine with making on time payments. My first payment had to be a mailed money order; I also called the phone number and extension line they provided in the documents I received after financing through them. I would urge everyone away from Metro Credit Union. I have never had an experience with any other bank like I've had with them. I only used them because they partnered with Cambridge Honda on car loans. For years, no problem until my loan was paid off. That's when the trouble started and I'm now 10 months into a fight with them to get them to stop taking monthly payments out for the car that I owe nothing on now. This Bank! So, if you're using investment apps and tend to move money around a lot due to this or any other reasons, this is NOT the bank for you. On top of it's horrible and often contradictory service you'd get from each agent you speak with, this bank literally LIES to you. Extreme wait on recorded lines. Pathetic. Online banking is routinely down. Online banking app is routinely down. Down as in for long periods of time. The app is dated and has limited features as if you were living in the 90s, that's if the app actually functions. I will start by saying I have a pre paid credit card with this bank. But it's the same business practices as most low income bank providers. They take money from pre paid money from people with not much of it and then from that prepaid money they then lend it out. But not before hitting you while they have your prepaid money with every fee and annual fee they can possible or legally find. I have been a metro credit union member for 16 years. and I must say I am so tired of there horrible mobile app banking. I'm currently trying to log in to there mobile app using my fingerprint like I always do and for like the 5th time this year it asks me to enter my password , which I do and says it doesn't recognize it.. now I have to call member service and wait an eternity for help from a live person. my union offers another credit union option which I will be enrolling in at end of this week when I cancel metro..
Worst mistake I ever made was getting a equity loan here. It is way more trouble than it is worth. We always keep up our insurance. At the time we got the loan they wanted proof of the homeowners insurance we provided that. Six months after we got the loan they wanted the same proof and we provided that. they sent us a letter saying we didn't provide it and that they would buy insurance for us. Horrible Horrible experience with Collections office. Complete neglect from staff specifically Matt and David has caused much distress. Do NOT recommend if you want friendly service and a competent staff to help with your bank
