the printer works great. the middle led light randomly turns on and ... the printer works great. the middle led light randomly turns on and off. can't figure out how to stop it. all the controls are for dimming the brightness of the light or how many seconds to wait before it dims itself. there is no documentation that discusses why the light randomly turns on. it's annoying.
One Star Does not print in color.
This is NOT the Brother printer that you are used to.... I've been using this MFC-L2740DW printer now for 6 mos. I thought it was a follow-on, or an improvement for the MFC7840 that I had been using for about 5 years. It is a completely different printer. The menus couldn't be more unrelated. The deep sleep mode is a problem. You can extend the time that it will not sleep up to about an hour, but then....you got it. Ok Printer, but has some quirks for install and print options I recently bought this printer/copier/fax/scan. I had some trouble installing this to my wifi, since it showed one wifi connection, but failed to specify that I have to select by highlighting this connection. So, the drivers were not completely installed. I could still print using wifi but could not scan to a file. I tried to chat with a support person, but he could not correct the problem. Beware- Four hours with customer service in last three months. A disaster. Perhaps the worst consumer product I have purchase in many years. If the power goes off, or a network connection is lost, the software has to be uninstalled and reinstalled . My wife, who formerly owned a Brother printer, warned me about this, and I should have listened. Buyer Beware we purchased this printer about 6 month ago ... Buyer Beware we purchased this printer about 6 month ago. Ever since we purchased it we have had trouble printing more than 3 pages at a time. We run a business and we can not print multiple checks or additional pages from a pdf file the printer sits there and tells you its down loading information well that hog wash. We Got A Lemon! This printer is defective. It will not stay connected to the computer. My sister who works in tech support has tried everything to get it to work and has been unable to keep it connected. I usually love Brother printers but we got a lemon!
Much too dark Prints copies of newspaper articles much too dark, so they're virtually unreadable. Trying to lessen the density leads to other problems. Don't buy it if you ever intend to copy newspaper articles.
required required Poor instructions, print too light, does not appear to be laser quality print at all. My ink jet is much, much better but not as fast. If you want fast poor print quality this is one for you.
