Original Toner VERY LOW capacity toner that came with printer did not get anywhere near the 1200 pages indicated. Maybe 250. Very disappointing.
Not worth your time Right out of the box, the stop red X button never worked. Kept it cause did not want the hassle of repacking etc. etc. Otherwise worked OK for two months in use for scanning; then tried to fax. Could not get the auto redial to shut off, it kept recalling .... no info in manual. Called support and they were useless. Wasted so much of my time. Won't power up! Please do not buy Bought this printer on 2015/07/14 and start having problem in November, 2017. The printer was not able to power on. Called the support line and the lady on the other end does not know anything and could not understand what I was saying. She had to put down the phone to ask somebody how to deal with this 3-4 times. I bought this printer in Nov 2016. I have ... I bought this printer in Nov 2016. I have been having issues with wireless printing and scanning for the past 6 months. Repeatedly I had been told to update this and download that, none of which have resolved the issue. Now that the one year warranty has expired Brother wants to give me a repair company to take the printer to so I can pay for the repairs. I will never again buy a Brother product ever again.
Can only scan 2-sided from computer software; not when scanning from the device Very frustrating. You can only do 2-sided scans when scanning from the computer, NOT when scanning from the device. I've tried selecting "2-sided" multiple times from the device settings before scanning, but IT ONLY SCANS ONE PAGE. Not convenient for when you are trying to scan something very quick; you will have to open up the software for your printer before doing a 2-sided scan instead of selecting it from the device. I need this printer to die so I can get a different one. I need to print large documents (100+ pages) of good quality. This thing runs out of memory after about 30 pages, requiring me to print documents in small increments. Brother's only solution to this problem is to "reduce print quality." No thanks. I've had older Brother printers that lasted years and had no issues printing these same documents.
