    Does not scan to Mac. Scanner does not scan to Mac. I've been through 3 tier customer support and they were not able to help me to get the scanner to scan from the Brother machine. I was however able tell the Brother to scan from my Mac, but my circumstance requires that tell the brother to scan directly from the Brother. I have been on phone support for over 6 hours no in all. Unfortunately this will not work for me.

    Brother must not be that sad as they refuse to refund or replace it with one that works. We have been communicating for literally months now. Brother apparently has awards for customer service but this is not my experience. I now have a printer I need to sell.

    Complex and time consuming trouble shooting instructions I have never been able to get the scanner working. The trouble shooting instructions are very complex, the on line help is very complex. When it ask for the product number it doesn't show it. This is a case of poor customer support...even though they think it is good...its not. I dont have the time to deal with the problem. Brother has a service page and you put in your product number and it doesn't show it....there is a problem with Brother, not me.. I finally figure ... read more

    and maintain our website and more) that's why we came back because those were so good. But these are terrible so I strongly advise ... Normally I only do reviews when it is a positive experience, but I am sadly stuck with two of these printers that each tanked at about 6 months old.     I’m really disappointed that letterhead gets loaded different than my office mfc ... I already had a Brother multifunction copier in my office and I wanted this one for my home office. I’m really disappointed that letterhead gets loaded different than my office mfc as do envelopes. I do not like the way envelopes have to be put into the printer (the machine has to be turned around to pull down the required tabs for printing on envelopes) and you can only print one envelope at a time.     I agree with the envelopes, it almost works so you would think with a bit of engineering they could make it work without needing to use the bypass output path. For me I'd rather have the unit slightly larger and be able to print standard envelopes normally (even one at a time). Letterhead should work without the output bypass unless its extremely heavy paper or has unique characteristics.

    LIARS. Max speed is 13 pages per minute not 33 pages. LIARS ! This machine prints 13 pages per minute. I printed 800 single page letters in groups of 50 and timed the results. 13 pages per minute. Also the toners only last about 1800 pages. I wont buy another one of these POS's. Review revised 10/22/18 First review 1/30/18. I'm knocking off 2 stars because the first toner printed only 511 pages.     It does fine with print option The printer is difficult to install. It does fine with print option. For scan, it is not recognizing the wireless option. the printer did not come with the USB cable. Now I am stuck. I have struggling with this for 3 days now

    A good product marred by horrible, horrible warranty service. Purchased the product and had good experiences with it. Then, when feeding label stock through the manual paper feed the machine peeled the label off the backing and wound it round the internal rollers, breaking those rollers. OK, stuff happens so I went to the Brother website and found an authorized repair shop who set an expectation of a repair in about a week which seemed reasonable to me. After ten days I called the repair firm which hadn't even looked at it. ... read more

    I wish I could give this printer a better rating, but the scanner function only works intermittently ... I wish I could give this printer a better rating, but the scanner function only works intermittently works through the USB and wireless. I am pretty sure there is a setup problem, but the automatic setup tool does not work well with Windows 7. I have reinstalled three times and cannot get all of the functionality to work. Everything else works pretty well. Maybe it works better on more recent versions of Windows.

    Easy set up, missing convenient functionality Easy set up for the basics but you can’t email docs directly to the printer and must be on same WiFi to use AirPrint, both of which I can do on my parent’s HP that I bought them. Google CloudPrinting requires you to set up a gmail email address, but an app to use on the iPhone, or download drivers to install the printer on another PC not on the same network.
