For our refinance everything happened as promised including the interest rate and closing date. Considering the equity in our home and our credit scores it seemed that a lot of information requested by The Money Store was repetitive and unnecessary.
The good reviews are fake. I dealt with the Money Store last year.As others said STAY AWAY!!! Your best bet will be to use ANYONE but the Moneystore. All lies and a big waste of time and effort. I had the worst experience with thier appraiser, I literally had collection agents calling daily after I stopped credit card payment followed by a dispute I won, the Moneystore did nothing but ignore reapeated requests to speak to someone. We were able to refinance our home loan with some information via e-mail and with an occasional phone call for claification. There were 4 to 5 hiccups with errors in the paperwork,resulting in having to fax back and forth multiple times. When my husband spoke with them on the phone he felt they were either inexperienced and/or not familar with their process resulting in delays leaving him to worry about the acuracy of the final product. Very unethical business. This should have been a slam dunk to refinance a recent bridge loan. I have great credit, no income issues at all and always submitted requested paperwork right away. Four different loan processors at the Money Store, each requesting resubmittals and updates of already submitted information. When I called the company for refinance rates , they were offering 3.25%, but because my property is condo, they couldn't offer anything below 3.49% with 0 points. At that point it still sounded good, so I agreed and started the process. My experience with The Money Store started off as being beyond excellent yet it ended up being very disappointing. The sales person (Jason Falasco) who helped me establish the loan was great and responsive. The support staff to collect papers, generate documents, and support the underwriting process were awful. They kept asking for information about our finances even after we provided it. Even after we closed they kept asking for supporting documents to help the sale of our loan. The admin person we communicated by email was not well organized. Thank goodness for our sales person who we contacted and he got it figured out.
Came across The Money Store online while researching to refi under the HARP2.0 program. The person who took my first call was not helpful. He didn't care to have me as a customer. I decided to make another call a few days later and was pleased with Daren Fontaine. He walked me through the whole process including out-of-pocket amount and rate. This was a simple slam dunk refinance, with more than 40% equity in property and documented income and assets far in excess of Fannie Mae underwriting requirements. It was terrible process causing a lot of stress and anxiety. The underwriter demanded repeated inappropriate and invasive documentation about employment history, checking statements, deposit sources, etc, claiming Fannie Mae requirements which were not requirements. I asked for a quote with no points and all fees included. They gave it to me on the phone. Then I agreed to it and after paying for a credit report, I got the electronic documents and they snuck in a point. Be very careful dealing with these people, I actually highly recommend looking elsewhere. After I saw that, I immediately switched to another lender.
