I was very nervous to go here being pretty much the only gym in surprise and being worried about it being to crowded. But after going for a few months now I love it! So glad I decided to join. Mondays are always crazy busy but it's still manageable.

Look no further, you have found the best gym in the West valley! I have been a member at a few different gyms out here in surprise and mountainside is by far the best. From the wonderful and professional services provided by all that work there to the up to date equipment and resources available to the members this gym is of the highest quality. All members notice this, you are a none membership contract and pay first and last month when sign up. when i canceled my membership because complain of sanitation issues in steam room and sauna room, they not take care of it and one of the club manager kick me out, and they never refund my money for my last month they keep because they just pay 2 days for that month after cancel, so they still keeping my last month pay when i join in, Hope all members notice this, and that how they run their business. We are always open to our Members concerns and suggestions and in your case our GM was doing everything she could to assist you with this matter and had made attempts to satisfy your requests. We are sorry to hear you felt the need to cancel your membership.
Their response to me having to charge them back after canceling my membership was that they are transparent about their contracts (see pic). I would recommend to anyone looking for a gym to pay attention to the transparency they speak of - After proving to them via email, that I canceled with one of their team members, they refused to give me my money back, then they challenged my chargeback afterwards. With all our contracts it is noted that if the Member does not cancel as per our cancellation policy or renew the contract, the status of the Member will go to month to month. Friendly and professional staff. The gym is always clean and equipment is always taken care of. Lots of classes for the women and lots of free weights for the men.
I really like Mountainside Fitness. I do the classes and the instructors are helpful and encouraging. The staff is nice and there is a good variety of activities. I like the Peak Performance, Tabata and Yoga classes. I have always found the gym clean and my nephew likes the childcare center. The idea of gyms always made me uncomfortable but everyone is friendly and I've made friends here.

I wish this gym weren't so expensive. I'm a member, and have been for over a year but with the new Planet Fitness moving in across the street at 1/4 the cost ($855 a year at MF and $240 a year at PF) and typically just as clean, it's hard to not switch. Unless they become a little more competitive in their pricing, I'm afraid most people will be across the street. :(

I wish it wasn't so pricey. It's very close to my home, clean, and if I went the daytime, it's not crowded. But it's out of our price range to renew our family membership with just three of us now, sadly. It was more worth it when all the kids lived at home and we had some need for the childcare, which I understand is a big draw for young parents but it kind of feels like some of the cost is on all members, kids or not. That's the reason for 3 rather than 5 stars. $1200+ year (if I pay upfront, more for monthly) is too much.... read more
