The staff members here have gone above and beyond my expectations in caring for my Mother. They really take care of her like she was their mom and everyone here is family. It is a small facility with only 16 residents and they have a good ratio of staff to residents. The meals are prepared in front of everyone and my mom really loves the food. The environment for me has been awful. For my husband it has been just okay. The staff is not good especially one of the ladies. She is very confrontational. Food is okay at best. It is usually cold and not served so he can eat it. They don't cut things up for him, etc. Sometimes it is okay.
Honestly, we're not having a very good experience. Even though it would be a pain to uproot my father-in-law again, I'm considering looking for another assisted living facility for him. I will say, two executive directors have been let go, so we're now on the third one in just seven weeks. The first one was fired because of a medical issue that was mishandled. My 90 year old father in law caught the mistake in his dosage of water pills because he was feeling bad and ankles swelling, but it was too late and he ended up in the... read more
One time my loved one fell out of the bed was on the floor for 3 hours uncalled for one day he was changed for 12 hours. Very rude to my aunt they would bring stuff for him don't think they ever gave him a shower they never use just lift they picked him up by his arms which he has a bad shoulder and I can go on and on and on.
Great staff, caring and passionate. Could've been better if they were fully staffed and actually took time to make sure the patients are actually taking their medications. But other than that, it was good overall. They are super nice. But they are extremely understaffed. There was numerous times we couldn't get in the house she was in because nobody was in the house to open the door that was authorized to do so. And they do not watch the residents take their medications to make sure they actually take them.
Overall experience - [name removed] ended up going to a rehab for sores after Mustang staff said he needed to go to hospital for bleeding out of rectum 3 times but it was a sore from not being clean. He was only there 3 weeks. Cleanliness - Every time I went to visit, his bed was stripped and the 2 extra pair were not in his closet. I offered to make his bed but was told sheets were in the wash. Great staff at the visit and during the sign up process. Not so clean some days. More than once his bed sheets were soiled and dried. Meaning they had been soiled for a while. Weekly room cleaning didn't seem to happen regularly. Staff was always cordial and friendly and answered all our questions. As it happened our resident was there only a month before passing away. I would tell others that I would never put another family member there. But would let them know how I walked in on the very first day with my mom's bed raised to the highest height and her safety rails were locked down. She fell out of her bed the very next morning after I called to alert them of the rails being down the night before. The ED insulted my loved one on her first & only call to me. I could rarely get through to her. The staff dismantled his bed to change rooms 3 times the 1st week & he had nowhere to sleep for several days so I had to bring him home. They never had his medication in the system correctly which is very problematic for someone with a brain imbalance. I didn’t want to bring him back there but had little choice.
