Do NOT use Old Republic. We have 2 problems with our fridge/freezer. Not being cold enough and water dispenser leaking pools of water on the floor so we opened a claim. That was going on 3 months ago. Old Republic keeps sending different repair people out until they find one that will fit their agenda. 3 separate companies have come out and said they couldn't fix it, until one said they could. I submitted two service requests under the Appliances category, one for my dryer and one for my garbage disposal. I was charged twice and when I called, was told that the garbage disposal request was under Plumbing. However, I submitted the request under Appliances and showed the representative that it is indeed listed under Appliances. I was basically told "too bad" and there was no interest in refunding my additional fee or in fixing the online request options so that this doesn't happen to someone else. I have had Old Republic home warranty coverage for just over two years. I have been mostly happy with the coverage, except for a few hidden charges here and there with a couple of the services rendered. My biggest issue arose today, upon cancelling my plan. I have spent over an hour being transferred around, trying to get an explanation for why they were withholding $270 of my refund. Very disappointed in the service that I got from older Public because we just moved into our home and realized the washing machine was not working properly. Old Republic would not cover the repair and so we had to buy a new washing machine. The hundred dollars that we paid for the technician should have been returned, and I am very disappointed in this company and I will not renew my contract after the year is up. Terrible experience for a senior citizen with a health condition during a major heatwave (temps in the 90s-100s). Her A/C failed, and Old Republic expected her to drag a portable unit around instead of urgently ***lacing it. They installed a smaller unit, which broke within days. ORHP has been difficult to work with. When calling I found it very difficult to speak with a real person, always had to talk to the ** and then hope for a call back. I also found that the person I did manage to speak with told me that my sewer line repair would be covered by the policy only to pay the $100 fee to have someone come out and tell me that it wasn't covered. Neither of the *******s that came out wouldn't even provide a quote for the repair so that I could hire them directly, the cracked pipe still needs to be fix... read more
