The zoo is very shady and that's the positive. The negative is that many of the large animals were mia. Either sleeping somewhere that you can't see them or the exhibit was closed. Very disappointing for the prices they charge.
We were looking forward to taking our 4 and 7 year old grandchildren for an afternoon at the Zoo. About 25% of the exhibits were closed. There was no petting zoo which we were all excited about. Even the Carousel was not operating. We stretched the visit out as long as we could and were done in under two hours. Given how many exhibits were closed, the entry fee should have been reduced to reflect that. Also, one cookie and a bottle of water was $9. Felt like a major ripoff on all counts. All in all, a very disappointing d... read more
It's cute for smaller children but it doesn't really have anything interesting, everything just seems so boring and the animals are so far away from where you stand to see them. I feel like I hardly saw anything
Could use a little paint and open up the attractions. There are a lot of paths to dead ends . I could see a new redesign. This zoo needs capital. And 4 dollars for a 12 oz soda is crazy! This looks like someone took all the money out an ran.
The Palm Beach Zoo is small, but has a surprisingly good representation of animals, from around the world, for its size. Unfortunately, they go through periods where they really let their physical plant, and some of the habitats suffer. Glass enclosed habitats' water is both filthy, and algae-laden. The lagoon, behind their cafe, has a thin film of oil over it. Many of the habitats have been modernized, but spaces, like the bald eagle enclosure, is small, and open air, and they clip the birds' wings to keep them in plac... read more
Beautiful zoo, however I can't give more than 1 star since the Tiger in the exhibit was completely stir crazy and was foaming at the mouth. We felt so sorry for it and it completely ruined our visit. I hope this poor animal is taken care of and hopefully will get a tiger to be with it so it isn't alone. I would attach the video I have if I could. It was pacing for entire time we watched it which was more than 10 minutes, I couldn't bear to watch anymore.
It has the potential to be a really good zoo. It's not large to the point you have to sacrifice seeing any of the animals. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see most of the animals due to renovations and some of them just simply weren't in their habitat on display. We did go midday on a Friday.
We live in Florida. We took our grandchildren to visit the zoo a couple days ago. What a huge disappointment! The tigers were the only saving grace of an otherwise despicable rip-off. Few animals made an appearance, the zoo itself was dirty, uninviting and expensive. We will never be back nor will we recommend it to any of our friends and acquaintances.
It wasn't so bad other than a cost $25 per person. What a disappointment .....there are like no animals out. There were two of us 50 bucks. We were gone in 20 minutes.
