As far as making a payment online it was very easy but my biggest issue here is that I'm on Social Security and only get paid one time a month I figured that I could make my $100 bill last me all month long but apparently there's some fudging going on around here and I can't so I added $25 to my account to see if I can make it to my next paycheck on the 18th and lo and behold they want to charge me 30 instead of 25 just to make $4.95 profit more than what they make already on being fudgy about their power arrangement. I thin... read more

Business response:

Mr Austin Sr- To recap- you are on social security so you try hard to budget your money. You calculated that $100 would cover you for a month but it did not and when you made a small payment to cover the difference you were the charged $4.95 minimum payment fee. Now you feel that the usage is incorrect and you are angry regarding the fee. That’s understandable. No one likes paying unexpected charges etc. Please note that we do cover any fees that may apply in the terms of service and electricity facts label documents. We ma... read more

DONT DO IT . I’ll go to any company but prepaid next time . You have to pay every other two days in I stay in a small apartment no way I should be paying 450 for lights. On top of that they only give one extinction then after that u gone be paying 1 a day for it, plus your daily usage. my option they need to be cheaper or maybe it’s because I’m a college student paying 450 for lights when I’m not even home.

Business response:

Hello- To recap, your usage a habits never changed but you experienced a drastic increase in your charges. It’s understandable that such fluctuations can be upsetting but it’s also important to understand that Payless Power does not read your meter and also does not raise your rate of you are on a contracted plan. Fluctuations in charges are generally related to weather. You can access your payless Power MyAccount Portal for a list of daily usage and charges and also register at www.smartmetertexas.com to audit these readin... read more

My electric bill with Express Engery was $1,000 per month, I switch to Payless just to search other companies rates...and found out that PrePaid is the way to go 100% Rate is higher but the funny thing is my bill is $350 per month...these contract plans are a rip off!! I can't believe I let myself get ripped off for years! Payless Electric PrePaid is 100% legit...you will save money!!

Business response:

We are overjoyed to hear about your positive experience with Payless Power. Thank you for sharing your feedback!

Zero stars, if possible. The service agreement does show the fees you will unexpectedly incur; however, they are difficult to understand and hidden in fine print. The customer service representatives will be polite and listen to your concerns, gladly assisting you in making a payment. However, when you call for anything other than a payment, you will be put on hold or transferred to "another department" where no one answers or they simply hang up. When you call back, you have to start all over again and end up with the same... read more

Business response:

Hello- We would like to learn more about your experiences but cannot locate your account via your email address. I can understand how frustrating it can be when you are unsuccessful in attempting to get clarification on an issue. Please note that unless you are requesting to speak to a supervisor, Payless Power Customer Care does not transfer other departments. There are no other departments at Payless Power that handle customer inquires etc. We would be happy to review every call that you made to our center and clarify ... read more

Payless power is trash I can’t wait to get over it. Way to expensive and they are not willing to work with you. Highly wouldn’t recommend better off getting a real energy company.

Business response:

Tiffany- You review comments that that you feel Payless Power is too expensive and a trash company because we won’t work with you. You also suggest that customers are better of with a “real” company. Frustration is understandable anytime a customer feels like they are not being billed fairly. But with this in mind you are billed per the terms of your plan which are listed on your Electricity Facts Label in your welcome kit. You can also see this online in your My Account Portal. Since your rates are locked in, your rate ... read more

I began service and my daily rate was 2 $ and change yet almost daily since the cost per day has gone up. Now after a month its around 8 and that is at a fixed rate. This is the highest prepaid I've ever been with. The amount of stress it's added to my daily life is killing my budget. The added stress when I already live with an anxiety disorder is crippling. I'ĺ

Business response:

Ms Love- Your comments state that you daily charges started around $2.00 per day and have steadily increased. I do see some sporadic increases over the last 10 days but these seem to correspond with higher usage due to hotter days. All in all though, your usage seems to be declining and along with it, your daily charge total. Please log onto your Payless Power My Account Portal to view this correlation. 888 963 9363
