Everything just seemed easy with the help of the Mac team all questions were answered promptly and steps were guided.all in all great experience highly recommend 👍🏽
There was almost no communication. My closing was over a month later than what was communicated when applying. I wouldn't hear anything for weeks then I would get an email requesting documentation I already provided. I could never reach anyone & when someone did call me back it would be around 8 or 9PM while I was getting my children ready for bed. I also got conflicting info from various people. The entire process was confusing & very frustrating.
The process was clearly explained from start to finish. Communication was great. We received a weekly call giving us a status update and asking if we had any questions. Everything progressed and was finished just as we were told it would be. Great Job!
Very bad communication from the loan officer. I had to give multiple calls a day to get a hold of him. I would be told by the loan officer that I will get a call from the loan officer in an hour because I was I requested scheduling a call back. Never got a call back. I was told my closing was scheduled for Nov 29th, no one showed up. When called the loan officer no response. Had to send multiple emails / make calls to get a hold of him. Overall very frustrating experience.
I think being in Covid made the communication more challenging. The document portal was confusing and since the process took longer than anticipated, I kept thinking the documents being requested were already uploaded, and it was hard to get a hold of people over the phone. Once I did get a hold of Mr. Mejia, he was able to clear up my confusion quickly.
Would definitely use PennyMac again!
Final closing was not a very good experience. First closing agent rescheduled on the same day for a later time and then never showed up. We adjusted our schedules to accommodate the change. When we called the following day to report no one showing, there seems to be some major disconnect between Penny Mac and the closing service. The next closing agent also rescheduled and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her day. Overall based on the closing experience alone, I don’t recommend.

The process was fine, but communication was poor. There were times I could not reach an agent, and I would leave voicemails and emails, but would not hear back. Fortunately, I was able to do most of the necessary things online, but it would have been nice to speak to a person instead of only having communication through infrequent emails (or emails promising to be in touch within a week, but never actually getting in touch with me).
