Most of the trouble was on our end. I could not open documents from this phone. Made things hard on all of us. Closing papers i was not happy gow some were worded. No where to explain anything. Everything is not a yes or no. No where to put any improvements down. I thank you for all your hard work.
Escrow was supposed to be included in my loan and it was not included. I caught it before closing was scheduled and it was supposed to have been corrected. It never got corrected. At closing I tried contacting my rep and got no response. I left voicemails and emailed and got no response. I left a voicemail and emailed her and her supervisor and got no response. Closing rep said we could revise before she submitted docs and still no response from PennyMac. I now have a mortgage with no escrow.
There was supposed to be no cash to close but had to make a check for 64 cents, really? That was a bit silly. In other IRRRL loans I have done I had a two month window of no payments, it took awhile for info about when first payment would be expected and it was only a 1 month instead of the expected 2 month but it is not a big issue.
It was simple and great knowledgeable staff.

Unfortunately, Our appointed primary point of contact did not seem to have the necessary training or knowledge of the Penny Mac systems or procedures to be helpful during the refinance process which led to my wife and I becoming frustrated with the whole thing. I did communicate this frustration to a supervisor as well but I don’t know if that will make a difference. I would likely not recommend using PennyMac because of this.
This was our second time with PennyMac. Having done this a number of times in our lives, we can say they have been the best.
The refinance was very smooth, the closing was actually faster than I was expecting, I am very satisfied with the team that I worked with and would recommend my friends do the same with PennyMac
