I purchased my first home with pennymac, all of my refinances have been through penny mac. In previous transactions I worked with Billy Manapat and he was excellent. Great communication, very personable and overall a great representative of pennymac. When I recently purchased my new home I worked with Juan Cueva. Communication with him was terrible at best. I’m never using, nor am I referring pennymac ever again.

Lack of communication throughout the entire process. Called several times & was routed to an automated system that did not provide the menu options that fit my needs (would only send me to tech support), voicemails were unanswered. My emails were either skipped over or not answered at all. It took 5 days to track down my loan officer. This is a difficult time (I'm an essential worker myself) but I lost confidence and Unfortunately the word count limit does not allow me to share more. A shame.

With regards to the appraisal, I was charged up front over $400 for the appraisal. Weeks went by with nothing from PennyMac. I called and asked and found out nothing was being done and appraisal people didn't even have a realtor phone number. I provided that and then was given a date, but missed again! PennyMac never followed up, I had to call once again. Finally another week goes by and got it done. Nothing was done without me calling and asking about it though...

The info I got from the originator compared to what I got from the processor was very different. It set expectations that were not reasonable and until the possessor got in touch with me weeks after, I was unsure if the refi was still even a possibility.

I have gone with PennyMac several times and it has always been a simple and easy process. Everyone is professional and great to work with. I hope to always work with PennyMac and I encourage others to do the same!
