From beginning to end the process took 3 months. In that time four closings were scheduled. Three of the closings never happened due to issues of PennyMac not having documents ready. The disappointment was no one from PennyMac called to say the closing was put off leaving me to call and find out why. During the process the closing disclosure documents changed several times without my knowledge to also include having an incorrect disclosure when the closing finally happened.

Regina did an amazing job along with the other staff the only issue was the appraiser not returning anyones calls

While I am sure COVID had a lot do to with the gaps in communications. I had difficulty with detailed responses to questions and timely responses.

We were surprised and frustrated with how long the process took. We did appreciate the weekly status update phone calls. Also the final closing statement at the time of signing was not the same as that was sent to us prior to closing. It was our understanding that we were not going to need to pay anything out of pocket at closing but we ended up having to write a check. It ended up working out but there were definite moments of frustration and areas that needed better communication.

An incorrect figure on a document led to the wrong cash to close amount being disbursed to me at closing. Took close to two months and several phone calls to get this fixed. My closing agent was not keen on helping. I was given the run around when trying to get this resolved. I will not use PennyMac again.
