Folks we talk to knew what they were talking about
I would say better communication but that would mean there was some to start with. When I had questions to ask I had to hunt down the person I was supposed to be able to ask questions to. Then if I asked a question I felt like I got half answers or like I was bothering her. I almost stopped the refinance process several times. By far the worst experience with customer service through a company I was already part of. It completely amazes me that I had a mortgage with them in the first place.
It was a fast and easy transaction. I would recommend pennymac to others for sure!

PennyMac exceeded our expectations from beginning to end! The entire team was friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and very efficient! We closed quickly, and our refinancing process was a pleasant one. Thanks to all who helped make our loan process go smoothly and efficiently!
The agent Abdul was great this is about the process...However, my loan took over 85 days to close! I don’t who dropped the ball but the “pay off” was sent to the wrong place. ( this was 30-45 days into the process) so then they had to reissue the pay off to the correct place. Also, I am having to call places to get the pay off etc Isn’t that the processors job? Keep a long story short even if penny mac were to give me a 1 percent fixed for 30 years I wouldn’t ever do business with them again.
We thought everyone we talked to was extremely pleasant. We were very disappointed in the length of time it took to close the loan. I know a great number of people were refinancing at this time but I know of 3 people who were able to apply after we did and close well before we closed. While everyone we worked with was very nice the timeline of 3 1/2 months and the process was disappointing. We were very happy with the interest rate and actual closing process.
The team from pennymac was courteous and professional. Danyell did a great job and it was a pleasure working with her.
Communication was HORRIBLE. I left voicemails and emails trying to reach anyone on my “team”. All went unanswered on multiple attempts and multiple questions/problems. The phone numbers listed went to voicemails 99% of the time. I had to keep calling until , what seemed to be, accidentally someone answering.
