The entire process of refinance went very smooth.
First of all Erica was great. My disappointment stems from speaking with a representative earlier in the process & being advised it would only take a month to close when in reality it took us 2 months. Also, the underwriter had us send paystubs 3 times.
I was hesitant to begin the process of refinancing due to reading/hearing what a headache it can be and my initial experiences when I was shopping around for options. Thankfully as soon as I was contacted by PennyMac, who had my original loan, the process was painless. Each person I talked to was helpful and polite, taking the time to answer my numerous questions (as someone who had never refinanced before). I was surprised at the clear, timely communication of needs and requirements.
We refinanced our existing PennyMac loan, and overall, the process was very good. One the application was complete, we got a weekly email updating us with the status. There was a small issue related to escrow at the last minute, but this was resolved over the phone very easily. The only negative was that the process took longer than expected, due to the demand for loans.
